Normally I agree that the pimping is bad and that they get through because of that (I wouldn't be surprised if the third spot goes to someone pimped who
sucked tonight). But, I can't feel bad for the underpimped people. If there was ever a night to shine and get through, it was tonight. I liked 2 of 12
performances. That leaves a lot of room open. A lot of these people have good voices, but so many of them made WTF song choices.

Too bad Mishavonna was actually really good and got shit on by the judges for no reason. She shone and earned a spot in the Top 12 that she won't get
because of lack of prior airtime and the judges doucheyness.

A lot of these people actually do have nice voices, but their song choices have been absolutely beyond atrocious that it doesn't even matter how good your voice is. |

It's not just the song choices, I think their voices suck. The term "great voice" is thrown around very loosely on the show.

I still can't believe at least half of these semifinalists are so called "semi-professionals". They perform as though they have never been on a
stage in their whole lives and half of them don't even know who they are musically. It's fucking ridiculous. It's no wonder none of them ever got
successful and had to turn to Idol as a last resort. Geez! At least if you're going to claim you had experience then act like you've performed before
in front of a fucking audience.

yeah this season sucks so far. They shoulda worked harder to mentor the top 36 and "guide" them into picking better songs. They had some really great
voices tonight who were totally wasted on crappy songs, I haven't heard a performance I wanna keep going back to yet. I'm afraid this season might
reach OZIdol 6 levels of suckage.

This group of semi-finalists are god awful. I think this says something about whoever eventually emerges as the solid chosen one in the finals. Obviously TPTB think they're not good enough to actually beat good contestants so they've put in a bunch of shit fodder and orchestrated their comments to build a Top 12 that will be easy for TCO to beat. |

Overall they'd be included in the god awfulness of this season. Even people who are good are not making me go wow or they're amazing. Usually in the
semis we get some real stand outs, anyone who has stood out has only stood out for not sucking or being passably good. Nothing astonishing.
Look for some serious OTT praise for people in Group 3. I imagine they will want to start covering this ass and trying to make it seem like they actually did find good people. Even if people are as bad as this week or last I think we'll see more praise overall because they want to redeem their shitty picks. |

I didn't think last night was so bad, overall. I think we're all so jaded that it's going to take a lot to impress us. Also, the pimped
singers (Danny, Adam) are just not all that talented. Adam was just doing what Norman was doing, only doing it seriously.
