She joins the already cast Jaime Ray Newman from VERONICA MARS as one of three witchy main characters. The Warner Bros.-produced "Eastwick" follows three young witches who come into their powers. WMA-repped Price will play one of them, Joanna, a hardworking, shy reporter for the local newspaper. She joins Jaime Ray Newman, who was recently cast as a fellow witch. EASTWICK is based on George Miller's 1987 feature film THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK, which itself was based on a novel by John Updike. Maggie Friedman, a veteran of "Dawson's Creek," "Wasteland," "Once & Again," "Jack & Bobby" and "Related," wrote the pilot, based on John Updike's novel about a trio of young women seduced by Satan. The same book, of course, formed the basis of a 1987 George Miller movie starring Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon and Cher. David Nutter, who has directed pilots for everything from "Roswell," "Dark Angel," "Millennium" and "The Mentalist" to "Smallville," "Supernatural," "Tarzan," "Without A Trace," "Jack & Bobby," "Traveler," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "Dr.Vegas," directs the "Eastwick" pilot. This is TV's second crack at pilot based on "The Witches of Eastwick." In 1992, writer-producers Carlton Cuse and Jeffrey Boam mounted an NBC version starring Catherine Mary Stewart, Julia Campbell, Ally Walker and Michael Siberri.

I watched All My Children during the An Li era... but I have a bad feeling about this one. I will watch to see how Paul Gross has aged. He was so cute on Due South.

It does have a satirical bent like Desperate Housewives, only darker. Like super dark. I hope the series goes there.

About Lindsay Price, she is not a good actress. Though she does seem likeable, she also seems to be put on shows that don't remain on the airwaves long after she joins (Beverly Hills 90210, the US version of Coupling, Lipstick Jungle). No, the shows are cancelled just because she's on the cast, but she hasn't proven to be a good omen for success. The redheaded witch used to be Kristina (Alexis' sister who got blown up by a bomb meant for Sonny) on GH, and I always thought she was a good actress.
