Here's my theory: I think Ben killed Locke because he knew that a dead Locke would be more instrumental in getting the O6 back to the island. He needed
Locke for information but once he found out about Eloise his new plan became: show off the dead Locke. Convince Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Sun that their
lives are indeed fucked off the island. Look at poor Locke. Nadia dying. Hurley going crazy. Jack becoming an alcoholic. Ben is a quick thinker.

Eh... Future Ben probably told Past Ben he was going to strangle Locke. Fate, dude!

By the way, did anyone else catch the "he's certainly grown" (or something like that) comment Abbadabbi made when he saw Walt?

It's compeltely possible. I'm sure it's been done on some fansite or another.

Cindi, I'm one of the one's who can't wrap my mind around everyone having already jumped back and forth through time (possibly over and over and
over...) and can remember or know precisely what is to happen.
Does that make me a LOST fan failure? |

He was crying because he thought himself a failure. He was depressed and unhappy. His only real world connection was dead too... There was nothing altruistic about killing himself in that moment. At least none that I saw... |

Yep. Locke was beaten and wanted out. It wasn't for the island at that point.

I bid five Quatloos on Locke!
Anyone else catch Widmore's comment about there being a war coming soon? Finally something is meshing with the whole Valenzetti equation + United Nations + altering the future + Dharma equation. There's probably a tie in with Skynet, the next Terminator movie, and the end of the world as we know it! |

the mention of the war scares and confuses me! Whose coming to fight and why and in what year? ah.....................

terpsy wrote:My guess? Since we're currently stuck in the Dharma era, we're going to see the war between The Others and Dharma. That's a huge piece of storytelling that we know little about. The only hitch to that theory is, how does Widmore know what time the island is currently in? The only thing i can think of is "The Economist." Remember when Sayid was about to be killed? Her Boss said he/she would page her at 10:30. Instead, the boss paged her at 10:00. Daniel found out there was a 30 min. time difference in island time and those outside the radius. Which could mean Widmore has a man on the inside. Assuming I'm even close to right (probably not)... Then Widmore (another assumption by me) is on the island during the war. It's before he's tricked by Ben into leaving (Which could be "The incident" reffered throughout the show). Widmore maybe thinks he can change the outcome of the war if Locke is on the island. If he changes the outcome of the victor, he will be back. I know thast the past can't be changed, per Daniel. But Locke is special in a way no other character is. Maybe there's more sinister reasons? just my little theory... Probably WAY off. |
