But I like the TBC format because, as someone said above, it does make people more fatigued. But if the TBC takes place with a plane ride somewhere in there, the players can always rest while in transit.

That's the only annoying part, when they make you wait an EXTRA week. I don't mind the non-eliminations, and would prefer SOME of them to be in TBC format. Personally, if I were scheduling, the premiere and finale would be two-hour episodes (each with TBC/Non-Elims), with 12 teams, meaning only one non-elimination leg is required between Legs 2 and 11. Add a team, make a non-elim early... easy way to make it exciting later, and once that first team IS gone, then only two teams throughout the race ever get that "freebie." The other legs are all elimination.

TBC never returned on this series since season 11. Last season, there are only 11 single legs w/o TBCs in the episode ends.

TBC would be great if it were used in a country that was isolated and a you wanted to get two eps out of the same country. TBC just for name sake is not the
worst thing, but not really exciting either.

I'm going to expect a TBC next season if there are 12 legs next season. The only acceptable case for a TBC is in the first 4 legs of the race. We get to
see more of the teams so we don't have to focus so much on only 6 teams for the other half of the season.

There are better things to remove, like the yield.

I don't mind TBC's all that much. The one in TAR6 in Hungary was pretty awesome. And wasn't there one in TAR10 in Finland? After that repell task?

The one where you pair up with another team is the 1 I hate. It can totally screw teams over

Season 6 - The first time. Brought something new although it was just irritating to have a recap in between.
Season 7 - The real trick this time. When Rob & Amber stepped on the mat first I gave a similar face Phil gave to them. Season 8 - Slightly interesting only because of the footrace for first and the Godlewskis thinking they were really doomed. Season 9 - Nothing really significant only that the location was worthy of being a real Pit Stop, and it came earlier than usual. Seaosn 10 - Nothing much at all. Probably that's why this was the last one for the US. Asia Season 1 - Set to look similar to Season 7, but 4 of the 5 remaining teams already expected Allan to give the next clue. Asia Season 2 - Totally pointless. One whole set of tasks, equalised at train station, take the train to another city just to reach the mat, and the position of stepping on the mat was based on nothing but simply a taxi race, even though Ann & Diane deserved some "bragging rights" for the competency throughout the race. Just one reason why the season was trash. |
