So is the TBC gone for good? |

I hope they don't bring it back next season. One of the most worthless twists ever.

Quote: Actually, it was bad the first time. If they didn't implement the TBC, then a team would have been stuck in Norway without any money, AND it was illegal to beg for money. Tell me that episode wouldn't have been GOLD! |

Quote:It was Hungary in TAR6. They didn't realize it was a national law against begging in Hungary until the first leg was non elim back in the day that they stripped all your money. So they invented the TBC on the fly to keep the predetermined non elim point. It worked fine that once in TAR6 since it was such a surprise. What a fadeout with Lori & Bolo stranded on the bench. But afterward it was just silly. |

TBC is a good twist because it contributes to racer killer fatigue (not having a break in racing), which makes for good drama. you can tell Danny and Oswald and Charla and Mirna were already facing pretty heavy fatigue (D/O making an awful detour decision, then getting lost, Mirna yelling at Charla for not being able to drive a car!) - already pretty dramatic. amped up even more if you have killer fatigue and not just fatigue.
not that the chas need any more stress. |

Quote:There are always 13 legs. Just the first leg of the TBC stretch had a "virtual mat" (tm Phil) at the end of it. A leg by any other name is still a leg in my book. |

I love the TBCs. I prefer it to a NEL. It always hits teams with Killer Fatigue - and the budgeting factor. Just because I hate it when teams assume, and count on, what they think is going to happen.
I like their confidence to be messed with. |

Quote: Yep, if you count the TBC legs, there would be 13 'legs' with 'sets of tasks'. But what I meant was 13 legs with a REAL pitstop, with a mandatory rest period where teams could eat, sleep and mingle with the other teams. |

What would have happened if Danielle and Asshole came in last? Would they have had to wait 30 minutes before checking in, then be assessed another MFE penalty?

Gosh, I hope they never bring back this stupid TBC ever again.

The AR9 TBC was one that I thought wasn't too bad of an idea, since it was so early in the game. It may have been a bit premature to waste having a non-elimination leg that early (with the old NEL rules of stripping their money/possessions).

I would SO prefer TBC over NEL anyday. So much more fun. Even if they know its coming, they are still mad that they have to run an entire leg AGAIN. Plus I think it would help a bit with the bunching since they dont have the mandatory 12 hr stay.

As far as watching goes, a TBC is exactly the same thing as a NEL. What the fuck are you losers talking about?

Hope it won't be gone. The production are just in dire need for some new and creative ways of doing it.

TBC used to piss me off so bad, it's bullshit that I have to wait 2 weeks to see someone be eliminated, at least give me a 2 hour episode on that shit!
