US territories need a shout out as well. I hope there would be a quick ranking for them. ^_^

I wasn't planning on ranking them, but since you brought them up I guess I could do a quick ranking of all the US territories before I start the 50 States countdown.

#5 American Samoa



This is a recent tag that expired in 2006. I like the palm tree on the left side of the tag, but it's one tone design and lack of any color other than blue has to rank it at the bottom of the list.






#4 Northern Mariana Islands



Only license plate not to have the name of the territory on it, but I imagine that Northern Mariana Islands wouldn't fit cleanly anywhere on the plate so I don't blame them. The term "Hafa Adai" used at the top of the plate basically just means "Hello!" in their native language. So at least they are nice.






#3 Guam



I like the simplicity of this license plate. Some of the best designs for license plates just constitute putting the outline of the state or in this case territory in the background. The yellow outline stands out from the black writing of the letters and you can see it clearly.






#2 Puerto Rico



Yay for a picture being the background of the license plate. Don't really know the significance of what that particular picture means to Puerto Rico, but that tower just hanging on to the side of the cliff like that is pretty cool. Also according to the saying on the plate it is the island of the enchanted, but "enchanted what?" is the real question.






#1 U.S. Virgin Islands



This license plate is purty and the best one out of the five by a long shot. It really gives you a feel of what the Virgin Islands are all about. It's very colorful so it grabs your attention and then you get to see all the little fishies on it. The outline of the territory in the background is always a nice touch too.
