Lost made me fall asleep twice, so it sucked more. This is my official rating system.

I haven't really gotten the hate for Friday's ep. It seems to rely on the notion that Ellen transcended all her pettiness and stuff by getting new
knowledge about herself.
She found out in this ep that after years of trying (and failing) to have children with Tigh that a 6 got knocked up pretty damned quick. I suspect that would make many people upset... Lets not even raise the incest angle. We also know that Earth was wiped out because of the population making the same sorts of mistakes that humans did in the other colonies. These cylons may have whizz bang technology, but they're still as flawed as all hell. This was amply proved by their need to paint the goo on with brushes by hand (!!??) Galen's shift to being Chief again made less sense to me than his shift to voting for leaving. He'd been seeming quite incorporated into the cylon culture for a bit now. I think the motif of the episode was the similarity between cylons and humans and how we still manage to frak up even when given the best possible hand. Or something... Oh... and the most recent ep was Gaius fun, fun, fun |

MORE GAIUS!

It was just poorly written. I hope whoever was responsible for this episode doesn't write any of the remaining ones. I don't think it hurt the overall
storyline but when we have so few left we want each one to be perfect.

As a Christian, I have inner turmoil because I keep wishing both Starbuck and Jack dead.
And I stopped reading this thread because I'm only half way through season 4's first half of BSG. But since I hate the half season "season" setup of BSG I'll go with Lost. But BSG is more realistic. And that's a ridiculous comment in and of itself. |

Both shows have had good points, and bad points, throughout their runs so far. I'll give the edge to Lost though, because the low points haven't been
quite as mind numbing as BSG. I think one of the main reasons was producer and network interference. If I recall correctly, Scifi pushed for more episodes
than was planned early on (the first couple seasons). This created a need for "filler" episodes, which had very little to do with the main plot, and
were really terrible. I also felt that the New Caprica storyline could have been much better fleshed out, and was rushed between the end of season two and
beginning of the third. Lost has had it's own problems with filler episodes, but in general they weren't completely useless to the story as a whole.
Of all the shows discussed so far in this thread I'd go: The Wire>The Shield>Chuck>Lost>Sopranos>BSG>>>>>>Heroes eta: The Wire

I hate to break the news to you BSG fans, but the writer (Jane Espenson) of the last episode ("Deadlock") is one of the main writers for the
forthcoming BSG movie and Caprica series. Apparently she walks on water.

Jane Espenson usually writes quirky/funny type shows (Gilmore Girls/Buffy S4). Not a great fit for BSG.

This last episode just shows that BAD BSG is every bit as shitty as BAD LOST. Thread can be locked now.

I love both shows, but I do find myself getting really really excited to see what is going to happen on Lost "next week" and sort of like BSG is just
on my list of weekly shows to watch.
