Anyone who says otherwise is lying. You go out in public and watch the stares. And to clarify: overly effeminate to me, is a CHOICE. It's the gays who make the CHOICE to wear the shorts that cut off 6 inches above their knees. The tight shirts with rainbows on the front. The purple and pink polka dotted hats or what the fuck ever. Those are all choices. It isn't even about the pitch of voice or lisp for me. That doesn't bother me. For reference:

He has a girly voice and gayface, but i am not embarrassed to hang out with him because he has class and does not dress like a rainbow explosion or act out for extra attention. I feel like Charlie from last season is the same way: an obvious flamer, but not an outrageous personality. It's not fair to group all effeminate guys together and say "oh I hate them." because everybody is different.

Spencer was bashing guys like Charlie, Todd, Coby, and Rafe, who aren't that, but just happen to have higher-pitched voices, expressive mannerisms, and, in the case of Coby, a stereotypically gay profession. I'm not really attracted to guys like that, either, but not wanting to screw somebody doesn't mean I should bash them or say I don't like them.

I DON'T HATE ALL EFFEMINATE GAYS AND I'M WILLING TO BET SPENCER DOESN'T EITHER. Hating stereotypes is perfectly acceptable because they exist for a fucking reason and everybody knows it. I'd hang out with Charlie. He's an obvious flamer. Does it mean I'm any less of a person if I said in an interview that I'm glad I don't SOUND like Charlie? I don't think I am. I wouldn't want to.

Todd, Rafe, Coby, and Charlie were NOT like that. Charlie had gay mannerisms and a gay voice and a crush on a guy; HARDLY anything he could control. And Marcus was FINE with the crush; if he is, why can't everybody else be? Charlie has a respectable profession and was classy. Hell, even Brandon fucking Quinton wasn't that obnoxious. I can't think of one gay on Survivor I wouldn't ever want to hang out with.

There are people who are just annoying by nature (depending on who you are), gay or straight. So if someone is annoyed by a gay flamer, then let it be, but I don't think the flamers should go around accusing everyone else of gay hating or anything like that because as I said before--I think it can be controlled.

Back on topic, before I read this I was perfectly fine with Spencer then I read some of the comments he made and I was kind of iffy. For now I will still to my impressions of him from the show and he is an alright guy.

You can't sit here and say that you HATE the kind of gay guys who hate feminine gay guys and they do that because they're insecure, or naive or whatever else. Pot, meet kettle. Spencer, in an interview, was explaining how typically the stereotypical gay man is cast on the show, and was giving some examples of how the cast members all fell in line with that stereotype. He even brought up JP breaking it, but JP wasn't even cast as gay, he was in the closet and came out after the show, so its almost like they cast a masculine gay guy on accident. Spencer was just saying how he breaks that stereotype by being masculine and doing typical straight-male things, but still proud and out as being gay. And can we stop pretending like Spencer was grabbing gays off the street and saying "WOW HO HO, LOOK AT THIS FAG RIGHT HERE!". Everyone he listed were contestants who signed all the waivers to agree to be pigeon-holed as that season's "gay". They knew going into it that they were going to be the "spokesperson" of their respective community, as minorities know this going into it too. However, they only represented the stereotypical gay man, which is feminine. So when Charlie, as the spokesperson of all gays, gets on the show and says "OMG I LOVE MARCUS SO MUCH I JUST WANT TO SNEAK A PEEK AND TOUCH HIM WHILE HES SLEEPING LOLOLOLOL LUV STR8 MEN", hes basically announcing that ALL gay men fall in love with their straight friends. And that is reason enough, for a masculine gay man, to HATE Charlie for being that spokesperson. If you are masculine, you are going to hang out with masculine straight men, why the hell WOULDN'T you want acceptance from the straight world, when you have absolutely nothing in common with fems? Spencer is finally the Masculine Gay's spokesperson, breaking the stereotype. So all the fems who are getting their panties in a bunch that he does sports and knows football and isn't scared of spiders and isn't trying to hop on every straight mans cock, fuck off. Spencer represents no one but himself, and I reserve the right to say that I think he's a douche, based on his own merits. That's all.
