there's nothing wrong with charlie, everyone is different. only homophobicunts hate flaming gays like charlie, include self-hatre a la spencer...
Was that misprint in the interview, or did he say Colby (though, if he's talking about stereotypes, I assume he means Coby)?
I don't agree with what Spencer is saying, but I understand it. A lot of the negative associations made with gay people come from the stereotype that we are all feminine-appearing, lisping, have a feminine-sounding voice, etc. I'm very torn on the issue of whether or not it's a good thing to "come off as straight." On one hand, when it isn't so obvious, you do hold the power of when you get to reveal it to others. That can be empowering to some. Also, you might have the opportunity to change some people's views on what it means to be gay. It can be just as hard, though, because you might be in a situation where you've been around nothing but hatred for the stereotype. And once you come out, people may automatically associate you with that, even if you never fit it before you were out.
I agree, though, that you can prove you're not like that without having to bash other gay guys who are more of the perceived stereotypes. I just think there's a more tactful way of saying it. I'm not going to get mad at someone for not wanting to be a stereotype, but that doesn't mean you have to have that particular reaction to it. You can not be a certain way, but still have respect for someone that is.
As for Spencer's mother, she's a bitch. I mean, great, you seem to accept your son is gay, which is better than a lot of other people, but she's basically saying it's ok that he's gay because he's not THAT gay.
