Luke is used to taking advantage of people and situations because of his disability and he's obviously doing the same on the race. His mother should be SO

I just didn't see anything rising to hatred levels. You can hate CBS pimping the deaf angle -- that's cweepy, too -- but they ran an outstanding first
leg.
Pretend the kid wasn't deaf and you'd have to come to the conclusion that they're good racers. I like them. Hatred of the gimmick I understand though. |

X to that. The ignorance and prejudice here is quite disgusting too.XX I didn't like them at first, and not because of gimmicks or anything, but they kind of grew on me. I thought they were nice and not jerks! And they turned out to be good racers. Heck, nobody ended up carrying the cheese down the hill. Mr. Hillbilly put it on a sled and slid it down. They're the ones who should have been eliminated and sent home! |

I'm keeping my mind open on them, since I will grow annoyed with them if the producers keep shoving the deaf thing down our throats like this (I know it
isn't Marge and Luke's fault, but still)...
But, I had these same feelings with Ron and Chris, because remember how sickeningly sweet and cringe inducing they were on the premier? Luckily they developped a few more layers of complexity in later episodes and became one of my favorite teams ever. Hopefully the same thing happens here. |
