Don't forget that Jaime has a law enforcement background. As such, she is probably used to the different rules that, de facto, apply to law enforcement
personnel. She was probably used to calling police dispatchers and 911 operators routinely. Maui does have a non-emergency police contact number, though.

Legal or not, it was still wrong. The reason that calling 911 for directions in Hawaii is not illegal is because only the occasional and rare jackass does it. If everyone was equally inconsiderate and clogged up 911 lines, I guarantee that laws banning such behavior would be passed quickly. Your post does nothing to address the aforementioned inherent problems with calling 911 for trivial reasons. I should have listened to the warnings of the other posters. Debating you is like discussing physics with Jessica Simpson: an exercise in pure futility. |
