What's your favorite SNL era? |

I'm not very into the original players that people usually rave about. My favorite time from SNL is the early-to-mid 90's cast, when Carvey, Myers, and
Hartman were the stars, and Spade, Sandler, Rock and Farley were the new kids. There was so much talent, and such consistently funny skits. I remember
typically non-funny actors like Kiefer Sutherland and Harvey Keitel were on the show, and they were hilarious because of the writing and the surrounding cast.
When the younger featured guys (like Adam Sandler) became more famous and had more airtime on the show, they weren't as good.

I've liked several incarnations, but the first generation will always be my fave. Gilda Radner was brilliant.

Do you think having a host every week is a good idea? I think I've read that they didn't do that in the early days.

I was around in the "early days", and I don't remember them NOT ever having a host.

The Mike Myers/Dana Carvey/Dennis Miller era.
The current cast is the worst I've ever seen. |

I prefer the early group too - Gilda Radner, Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Larraine Newman, Jane Curtin and Bill Murray
Don Pardo (Don Novello), Andy Kaufman, Steve Martin, Al Frankin were on a lot of shows |
