Abby - "I cam back to Harper's Island for a wedding. . . . . blah blah blah" Abby will be looking back at Harper's Island Abby - "So and so killed. . .I can only pray for those people." Abby will turn around and Trish will be smiling with a blood knife in her hand (she just killed the ferryman.) Trish - "I've always been Daddy's Little Girl." Abby looks shocked as Trish plunges the knife (screen goes black. We hear a scream from Abby and then "One by one" from Trish. Credits roll) |

Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) is not a clue. Someone was mocking Shane, the "Sailor." The sailor said, "Brandy, you're
a fine girl."
With all of the foreshadowing about Sully wanting to wind up with Chloe, I put that at 50-50. Unless she hit a rock, there's no reason for her to be dead on contact. Cal's dead, though. Blade punctured a lung. Wakefield's the killer. Full stop. But let's see this through, anyway. Danny: Live, die, or killer, his character is underwritten, so who cares? Madison: I still suspect her, but come on, this is CBS. And I think she couldn't reach high enough to commit any of the murders. Shea: Very suspicious behavior at times, and you could write parts of a good conclusion around her, but, like Danny, her character is too underdeveloped for anyone to care. This would be a WTF? moment. Sully: Probably dead man walking, but for the foreshadowing of him winding up with Chloe. He could wind up with Trish or Shea instead if one of them lives and he survives. The formula says he dies soon. We haven't even gotten a hint at a back story for him, but they might have envisioned building the sequel (hah!) around him. Trish: Would make the most interesting killer, and in addition to the woman scorned angle, she has the best motive (money: kill Mom and Dad and kill a bunch of other people so that no one gets suspicious), but it would be too inconsistent with a lot of of her other behavior. The writers really screwed the pooch with her. Jimmie: Frankly, he's the one who makes the most sense. He's about the only one who has physically been in a position to commit or assist with the murders. He's strong, a hunter, and good with a knife. He made sure to buddy up with the local law enforcement to find out what they were doing. If this were real life, I'd put the odds at it being Jimmie at over 90%. But, this is CBS, there's a sappy love story to be told, and they're pushing him way too hard right before the finale for him to be guilty. He's got a record, all right, but for something else. Abby: Get real. Aside from it being done, done, and done, it doesn't work unless you ignore all kinds of plot points. Henry: He did it. And the motive is banal. We know he's a crack shot and let his father-in-law beat him at skeet on purpose, but he can't even wing a mass murderer to protect his fiancee and his mistress? "We should split up."? That's all a lot of crap, though. It was Wakefield, and to the extent anyone helped him, it was to help Wakefield. Man, what a turd. |

Who does Danny hit at 10 seconds? I don't think he dies there, because why reveal the killer on Danny. I think Henry does something stupid and its a pissed
off punched like when he hit Malcom.

Here is something we should think about :
I was re-reading the intro/kinda spoilerish text that came with the characters at the beggining of April. Most text didn't makes sense back then, but now does: ex: Katherine Wellington is the very definition of a trophy wife: a sexy woman closer in age to her stepdaughters than her husband. Trish resents her, but Shea tolerates her because she makes their dad happy. But considering Katherine's secret dark desires, that might not be for long. We know it was about her cheating with Shea's husband Richard Allen is Shea's husband, a guy who married into the Wellington family and business and lives everyday with that fact hanging over his head. Henry sees Richard as an example of what not to become - a meek subordinate who has completely broken under the thumb of Mr. Wellington. Richard keeps his severe contempt for Mr. Wellington under wraps, but is already in the process of taking revenge on the man who has made his life so miserable Same as Kathrine Malcolm Ross is a groomsman. He's a big, boisterous guy who not only brings his own beer to a party, but he brews it himself. Malcolm
is trying to start up a business to mass-produce his microbrew, Sacred Turtle. His friends are very supportive emotionally, but lack the funds to finance his
endeavor. His inability to raise capital has put a lot of stress on Malcolm, and made him desperate enough to do things his friends would never
suspect. All the shit that happened with the monney (killing both etc..)
Sully is Henry's best man. All of his friends call him Sully, and he has lots of friends. He's a fun-loving frat boy at heart whose
good buddies live vicariously through his many sexual escapades. He's been Henry's best friend since high school, but it's questionable if he's
at the wedding more for Henry's benefit or for the bachelor party and bridesmaids, particularly when he gets and eyeful of Chloe.
Foreshadowing of the chloe/cal/sully triangle

But it could just be Wakefield mocking the two of them, the sailor and the barmaid, just like why Kelly's eyes were filled with red ink. It could be
commentary. But, for some reason, I don't really see satire as Wakefield's bag.

Vinsincere wrote:THIS. Except for the mistress part. "Alleged best friend" is just as good a reason to shoot the mofo. And Wakefield being able to get the carpet back over the trap door in the church after leaving through it is about as believable as him getting the food cart to block the secret door in the Candlewick kitchen after leaving through it. Or chopping Beth in two and only leaving her top part w/o much more blood everywhere. Or the point of choosing such elaborately difficult means of death for Cousin Ben and Uncle Marty. Or the stabbing-through-the-wall-and/or-booby-trapping of Katherine. Or no one hearing all that china being shattered. Or the red dye in Kelly's eyes ... or the scene explaining Lucy's absence allegedly landing on the editing room floor ... or the "significance" of playing Brandy ... or ... Still more addictive than crack, but man is it a festival of incompetence! ETA TO ADD: ps: I'd buy that porno in a nanofuckingsecond!

I'm sticking with Henry as the killer, and here's why:
Henry (Wakefield's son) found out Wakefield/Abby's mom were having an affair, which led to his parents divorce and his mom abandoning him. It fucked him up. Why kill all these other people and not just Abby? They can talk. They can help police investigate with their stories of who was where and when. Jimmy could also fit this scenario and replace Henry, however I'm sticking with Henry. CBS wants their bullshit love story, so they'll get it with Jimmy/Abby. And let's not forget that while Jimmy does have the strength/knowledge, so does Henry. He was an islander. And if you don't get what the hell I'm saying |

If I do have one overall regret about the plot, it is that there doesn't seem to be a moment where the cast was paranoid that one of them, unkown to them,
must be the killer. They have always had a prime suspect, from thinking and fearing it was J.D. or Richard, or the Sheriff, then Wakefield and perhaps Jimmy as
his assistant. They never had a killer on the lose where they had to worry that the person standing next to them (or in bed next to them) was a Wakefield
copycat and could take them out next.
Part of the fun of the book And Then There Were None was the realization among the characters that there was a killer on the island and it must be one of them and they don't know whom it is. While it is still an exciting ride and I cannot wait for the finale, I was sort of hoping there would be a point where all of them started suspecting and turning on each other. Unfortunately, Wakefield's return, and apparent stay in the show till late in the game ruins that possibilty. As long as Wakefield is alive, there is no reason for anyone to suspect anyone else. It sort of ratchets down the suspense a bit. It doesn't even look like we are going to see Wakefield die, then someone else die so they worry about a second killer. It sounds like it is just going to be revealed that Wakefield has a partner, "She's getting away". Oh, well, so much for paranoia. As they say, "just because your paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't still really out to get you." I'm super convinced Wakefield's partner is Henry. His not allowing Abby to shoot him and him not taking any shots at Wakefield himself when he's a marksman is pretty revealing. ---------------- Madison's scream is not a good sign for her. It probably means Shea has just been killed in front of her because Wakefield or his partner just broke into the attic or Wakfield is about to kill her after she foolishly let him into the attic. What an icky likely final four. Two couples. Blech.
