Posts: 222 (06/26/09 7:10 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I know some people are sad about Wakefield coming back putting more of an angle on random killings, but if every character died for moral reasons, it'd be even less realistic than MichaelMyersWakefield, but in a more Dr Phibes-y way. Most of the early "important" killings (Ben, Marty, Thomas and presumably Hunter) seem certainly like they were done with motive and in Lucy's case it was presumably just because they were going too close to the woods where we has hiding (which is possible for Booth too, I guess?) I'd have hated for the writers to try to have him justify why he murdered someone like Nikki - I can't think of any famous murder-mystery with 15+ victims all carefully explained by the narrative. Jimmy being involved with the murders would be a shock to regular viewers since Abby trusts him completely and the murders are all about her. It is a common assumption that Wakefield had a child with Abby's mom and it is not Abby because of the diary entry. But what if Wakefield is mistaken and he believes that Abby really is his daughter? I can't see why Wakefield is so preoccupied with her (especially now that the Sheriff is dead) Endings that I can accept: 1. Jimmy is the other killer. 2. She is the other killer. She is Wakefield's daughter making Madison Wakefield's granddaughter. Ending that sucks: 1. Henry is the killer. This would be bad writing. The fact that Henry would agree to ruin his impending marriage and allow the 2 people that were closest to him through his childhood (JD and Uncle Marty) to be killed because of the motive to revenge his father John Wakefield is weak. If that were the case, for the purpose of proper story development, the flashbacks in episode 7 should have included more about Henry rather than being all about Abby, Jimmy and Wakefield. The only possible explanation is that Wakefield threatened to kill him unless he agreed to have his wedding on Harper's Island and bring Abby back. Then again, why would Wakefield be so dead set against Abby now that the Sheriff is dead?

I honestly half expected Wakefield to let Chloe go after he killed Cal. I don't know why he would let her live when he could have just killed her at the church only to kill her later. Had she not jumped, he might have just let her climb to the other side of that bridge and get away. He doesn't seem afraid of the survivors at all... I doubt he took her as a means of splitting them up or luring them into an easy kill. He obviously wanted some sort of validation / closure for something in his past by confronting whoever Chloe represented to him. I wonder if he got what he wanted when he found out Cal was indeed willing to die for her. Perhaps he was once placed in Cal's place and chose not to give his own life for a woman (hence his comment abt almost dying for her... was that what he said?). I made this comment before, but Ill have to say it again; does the other killer HAVE to be Wakefield's child? Any number of people could be involved with him for any number of reasons. Furthermore, how is it "all about Abby" if the Sheriff's death was only one amongst the many preceeding and proceeding it? Wakefield isn't her father, he should have no special stock in her unless someone with more of a connection to her teamed up with him. Lol, I read the spoiler about there being 5 deaths. I totally didn't notice / forgot to count the deputy. As the seconds ticked down to the end of the video, I was expecting Shea to bite it when she was looking through the files, then I expected Trish or Jimmy to bite it in the car (with one killing the other). Btw, what the fuck is the matter with Henry? If he isn't the killer, he is the most retarded person on the planet! He wants them to SPLIT UP to seal off the tunnels when Wakefield could have easily already offed Chloe, exited the tunnels and currently waiting for more victims near one of the exits. I guess from a viewer's perspective, we fear for any character left alone with another suspicious survivor. The survivors wouldn't be so wary of each other after they personally saw Wakefield. Still, even with no reason to suspect Jimmy... it is a really stupid move for Henry to send Trish out alone with him. Especially since Jimmy is hurt and wouldn't be able to protect Trish from Wakefield if anything happens. Isn't she mad at all that her husband to be would rather make sure his platonic female friend is safe than that his bride is safe?

A Jimmy ending makes less sense and will be even worse since he's poorly drawn, sketchy character and even more conspicuously guilty than Henry (and it makes the whole story even more Abby-centric than it already is). Henry's "dream wedding" could be one where all the people he hates get murdered. Of all the cast, Marty and JD (and Mr Wellington) are the ones whose deaths seem to have been done the most out of necessity (Marty's bc of the money issue; JD bc he was starting to know too much). And Wakefield's issues with women are pretty well-established from his scene with Chloe, so the fact he'd still hate Abby would make sense. It's just sad with two episodes left there aren't any more than two possible suspects :/

Wakefield is directly responsible for five people we have seen (Sheriff, Nikki, Shaen, Cal, Chloe) and considering how they were hanged or placed in public to be found (Unlce Marty, Richard, Kelly, Maggie) and probably others too -- that's already a majority of the people on the bingo card who are killed. Wakefield IS the main killer. We are only looking for an accomplice, if there even is an accomplice. It's also possible we could be watching a slasher film where they all run from Wakefield for two episodes. Blech. The advertisers did a pretty good job selling this show as something it was not. "Come solve this amazing mystery" is a lot more enticing than "come watch this 90 minute b-grade horror film dragged out over 13 hours of television". In any event, this crapfest, with all the misleading advertising, and all the schlockiness, has been as addicting in crack and I have to watch and stay tuned for the inevitably disappointing ending where Wakefield or the mythical accomplice chases Abby through the iconic lighthouse or whatever. ------------------ Music plays a role in this that hasn't been explored. There are the Ave Maria phone calls to Abby. "Brandy, you're a fine gilr" was playing on the jukebox as a signal by Wakefield or Jimmy to Jimmy or Abby or Henry. Maybe the line "what a good wife you would be" was a signal for Wakefield to Jimmy when he woke up to get to the church where the wedding was supposed to be. Jimmy and Abby could be sending each other signals musically. ------------------ Jimmy could certainly be Wakefield's accomplice because of his history and he either his or he is the final red hearing. Since the 12th episode is entitled "Gasp", either someone runs out of air or we all gasp as the identity of the accomplice (not the "main" killer) is revealed. And we have to wait two whole weeks for it, unless Canada doesn't skip a week.

Wakefield's kid might be, but doesn't have to be the killer. Something else to consider. Wakefield likes acknowledgement. He hangs up his bodies so that people can find them. The accomplice, if there is one, is probably responsible for the bodies that are missing. The accomplice is concerned about getting caught. Wakefield wants everyone to see his victims hanging form a tree or whatever. Malcolm and Lucy were probably killed by the accomplice while Uncle Marty, Kelly, Richard, Maggie were probably killed by Wakefield.

Spoiler [+] Trish running into the church with a gun as Abby and Jimmy hug and Trish yelling "Abby" as Jimmy smiles evil like. I don't remember seeing it. If not then perhaps its from Episode 12. Plus I thought there was an Episode called Bzzt but it seems to be missing from upcoming episodes. Unless Episode 12 is Bzzt. Episode 13 Part 1 is Sigh and Episode 13 part 2 is Gasp.

Spoiler [+] Yeah, we know now that Wakefield is behind all the murders since Madison knew that Cousin Ben was not going to attend the wedding, I'm thinking that the ending will be Abby being chased through the hedgemaze at Candlewick by someone with the power saw rather than through the lighthouse. I thought that "Brandy", the song playing on the jukebox, was for Nikki, since the title character is a barmaid. Jimmy has been a major suspect for quite some time: episode 2 - He turned down Henry's invitation to attend the bonfire party and didn't give an explicit reason. episode 5 - After dropping Abby off at the wedding rehearsal, he turned down going into the church. episode 7 - The infamous "Hey you!" scene in the flashback episode 8 - He magically appears at Candlewick after the power is cut off and didn't offer a good reason for being there. episode 10 - He is principally involved in the deal to get Abby to go to the Inn where her father sacrifices his life for him and Wakefield is waiting for Abby. He wasn't burnt from the explosion. episode 11 - Goes missing from the Cannery and then magically shows up at the Church where everyone has gathered. I found his explanation rather lame. He went into town to get help and found the town to be empty, Jimmy Mance would be a great Survivor player. He seems to be a real charming liar just like the winner of the past season. I don't know where the Wakefield's child thread is going but it seems like Wakefield thinks that Abby is his daughter. Wakefield being a/the killer is a downer but I suspected he was alive after someone at TwoP identified the newspaper picture of Wakefield as Callum Keith Rennie. I wonder why the actor that played Booth said that we would see Booth again? Maybe Booth was actually murdered or his body was dug up and we will see it in one of the last 2 episodes. Based on editing, I'd say that Sully and Danny are goners. Sully got a redemption edit in the last episode.

This is what I said when last week Wakefield made his appearence. A BAD B movie at best. The teaser for this week STATED that "COULD THERE BE ANOTHER?" not there are 2 murderers. Everyone is taking that as face value oh yes there is a second murderer etc.... I don't think so... I think they are just creating hype and its WAKEFIELD and only wakefield. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This COULD have been a great mystery, with the wedding party slowly disappearing, then boom they find out that there is a killer (when the sheriff gets killed) The survivors start suspecting one another...no one has a good alibi for several murders. No-one knows for sure until last ep who the killer is and ITS SHOCKER to all..... As for the actor playing BOOTH...The actors didn't see the finished project. His dead body was probably filmed but the editors CUT it from the final production.

Spoiler [+] I watched it at work... it took everything I had not to tear up at Cal and Chloe's reunion (I failed) and subsequently at their deaths. At the very least, if they were going to die, this was a great way to do it. I was worried with all the quick, brutal murders that they would suffer the same. The soft music (gotta find that song now) and the slow reactions to everything punctuated the emotions ever so much. Cal did turn into that great hero and Chloe's plunge was her way of taking her life into her own hands. Good for her. I gotta say that with all the bad acting from the other actors otherwise, those two really had chemistry and made me believe they were a couple beyond their characters. I know it most likely won't turn out this way... But I want to believe that Wakefield just tested out that theory that you would sacrifice yourself for the one you love. I'm not sure where Wakefield stabbed Cal, but I'd like to think it wasn't a fatal wound. And the height of the bridge wasn't enough to be fatal either for Chloe. I want to believe that they floated away, far away from where the others were. That Chloe dragged Cal out and dressed his wound. That they found their sailboat at the mouth of the river. Unfortunately, the writers went with this Wakefield twist that negates all that. It's what we got, and it's not going to change, and whether we bitch about it or not, we're all still hooked on this shit and are going to ride it out until the end.
