The way I see it, Sierra's confidence is building her up to be blindsided when Brendan is voted out, and it'll be something she has to overcome. The
one thing that worries me about Stephen's edit is just how un-complex Jalapao is, and the fact that he's talking about sticking with them over the
exile alliance is worrying.

I'll do some quick preliminary ratings after my first watch, as always. I do my first watch without any notes and while cooking dinner, so they could be
very off base. Everything here is a simple gut reaction.
Timbira Coach: MORN2 - Extremely weak N. I only put it in because he was shown being foolish about the weather when it was completely unnecessary. That clip was put in for the sole purpose of making Coach look like an idiot. Tyson: MOR2 - Comment about Brendan puts him on the radar, not under it. Didn't really notice any tone. Erinn: UTR2 - Coach is a jackass! Well, I'd have to agree. I'm not sold on an "N" for her, but it certainly isn't P. Debbie: UTR1 - Debbie was in this episode? Someone said they remembered her more than Erinn, but I can't. (Again, preliminary ratings subject to change) Sierra: MOR/UTR2 - Seemed to be a carbon copy of what she had last episode. I think she was slightly more visible. Too confident? What she said came off as a little odd. Brendan: MOR/CP3 - Again, don't remember the nature of his comments, but he definitely got them. Jalapao Taj: CP>9000 - Holy visibility batman! TC was Taj Council. She blew up, but it seemed to be out of frustration. I don't feel the editors wanted to make her negative, rather they wanted to paint her as a reasonable decoy boot. Joe: UTR2 MOR3 - Stupid editors messing with his perfect streak. Sydney: UTR1 - Throw away comment about being sexy. Spencer: CP4? - See Brendan. Stephen: CP4?3? - Wow. Loving his edit. JT: OTTM3? - His least complex episode so far, but at least he wasn't super positive. I don't like this episode for his winners edit, but it did add a little dimension (tone-wise) to his character. JT has never been painted as particularly competitive before tonight and it was seemingly necessary to show to understand why Spencer was booted. Keep in mind, we do understand the reasoning behind JT's vote for Spencer (he explained it pretty thoroughly to Joe/Taj/Stephen and Spencer himself) even if we didn't get it in a confessional. I'm kind of sad I did all that work on his edit because this episode definitely hurt it. Eliminating him would be premature though. Expect another gigantic write up on JT at some point this week... I'm terrible at ratings after a first watch, I'm not sure how you guys manage to remember so much. |

Tyson - MOR1So, does anyone else think this is the most appropriate rating for Tyson? Or is everyone just gonna give him MOR2 just because we can't go above 5 for Taj (which I thik is a bad idea because Taj was so visible, so Tyson [among a few others] should get a 1 because they're that much less visible than Taj who's a 5) |

RNO reports that the next ep is indeed a recap ep. So we have 3 weeks to edgic the hell out of the first 5 and pick a winner by the merge.
Cool. |

Taj skews the visibility numbers far too much this episode. Coach and Tyson seemed to be more visible than a typical 1 vis. Just my take on things.
Oh, and here's another interesting note: In this episode, Spencer specifically says that JT is a typical Southerner (or something to that effect) who probably would be prejudiced against Spencer, as a gay guy. Seems that Spencer still went off JT's first impression and got voted out. Stephen, however, was shown remedying his first impression of JT back in episode two. I think it's a fairly interesting contrast. Stephen also got some lines about his first impression of Brendan, can't recall what they were ("positive but wary"?) or how they may predict what is to come. |

They seem to be flooding Brendan and Taj with all that doubt, huh?
And Spencer labelling JT as a possible homophobe could have been left out, but it does reflect upon JT negatively, doesn't it? |

Brendan definitely got doubt this episode. He also wasn't shown as overly confident about the alliance (as Taj and Sierra were in the beginning). Taj
isn't winning regardless. She may have doubt, but it's not the editorial manufactured kind. It's the real, this girl is not going to stay here
forever doubt.
In a season where first impressions have been so painfully wrong so many times, Spencer labeling JT as a possible homophobe without any evidence that JT actually is, reflects more on Spencer than JT. Stephen thought JT wouldn't like the anxious NY Jew and look how that turned out. |

I think the overconfidence of the EA was good--because behind their backs everyone was showing their suspicions. Total doubt. Definitely there
is going to be some trouble for them down the line. I definitely see Sierra as maybe one of the last left and has to fight for herself to
survive, and win it all. She's edgically amazing.
Erinn... almost got INV1 until her confessional about Coach. Her story is about beating her critics. Then she's done. Basically eliminated--give up. Taj and Brendan are going to be outlasted by Stephen and Sierra--one of those two is definitely winning. Funny that Jalapao didn't get any post TC screen time... I'm doubting any of them win. My pick, again by lightyears, is Sierra. Joe was an idiot... N? Sydney was possibly a weak P there. Taj and JT I think were both OTTM... Spencer was probably CP. Coach and Brendan were the only non-UTRs on Timbira, interestingly enough. Sounds like they've made their comeback. Tons of merger story potential with this group. |

taks wrote: In reality, yes, it reflects more on Spencer. Did he give JT a chance before just deciding he wouldn't accept it or just assume? But editing-wise it contributed to JT's N this episode. Erinn... almost got INV1 until her confessional about Coach. Her story is about beating her critics. Then she's done. Basically eliminated--give up. I eliminated Erinn this episode for that exact reason. My only remaining contenders are Sierra, Stephen, and Tyson (in that order.) |

First impressions:
Brendan - CP3 Coach - MORN2 Debbie - UTR1 Erinn - UTR2 - a pretty simple UTR episode, but maybe it is setting not only the blindside she will orchetrate to both villains, but also a connection with the jury if she's seated at the F3/F2 (probably, both Tyson and Coach will bash her with their speechs and not vote for her) Sierra - UTR2 - a good UTR episode for her, again Tyson - MOR2 Joe - MOR3 - he had one scne highlighted during the Immunity Challenge where he says he hurted his knee, maybe it will be his downfall in next episode. I strongly believe that a young and likable alpha male that is UTR all the time has to be a pre-jury boot. lol JT - MORM3 Spencer - MORP4 Stephen - CPN3 - he finally gave us his impressions on the EA, and I think because the editors made us see this alliance in a positive way, he was kind negative ith his commentaries. And remember the scene where he says he's not thinking in giving the idol back to Taj while she trusts him and brought him to the EA Sydney - UTR1 Taj - CPM5 I decided to not use some of the visibities in Warrior's chart, because I felt the confessionals made by Tyson, Coach and Erinn had a bigger impact than a 1 in visibility, while Sydney in the background was completely forgetable and irrelevant deserving an UTR1 My list: 1. Sierra/Stephen 2. Stephen/Sierra 3. Erinn nearly elimination (in no particular order): Tyson (OTT villain?), Brendan (looking like a distraction), JT ( he had a terrible edit in an episode where he decided the boot) Eliminated: Coach, Debbie, Joe, Sydney, Taj (what a huge distraction she is) |

BTW... I can understand FOB getting deleted and the potential deletion of Clubs but WTF with Spoiler Attic... are those threads lost forever now or
relocated? I was just going to reference them and was shocked to see Spoiler Attic was no more.

After tonight, I think a good case -can- be made for Stephen as the most viable edgic pick, but for me Sierra still makes the most sense and here's why.
I really think (forgive me if I'm merely restating the obvious) that in the end, everything will tie back to the opening comments made by Erinn, Tyson,
Sandy, Stephen, Coach and Sierra.
