I disagree. Erinn's edit has been consistent with past female winners. If she won, it'd simply be "that type" of a winner edit season.
Stephen will probably win, but a lot of people can't deny his edit because he's a HUGE underdog. He's the CBS branded "city boy" who's overcoming things and was an underdog at the merge. Even if he didn't win he'd be a huge distraction because of all those things, you can't hide an awesome story like that. You wouldn't want to. People love that shit. |

Is flf is predicting a Stephen/Erinn F2 ?He's predicting, as I have been, a final two of Stephen and someone else inconsequential. The issue of trust has been highlighted too heavily for a pay-off not to occur. Either Stephen or JT will betray the other. And speaking of things that ought to have a pay-off, don't forget the issue of who has possession of the idol. |

Last season you could argue there was no one with a classic winner's edit. This season there is no such excuse.Sure there was a classic winner's edit last season, Marcus did. That's why a "winner's edit" is a fallacy. We're analyzing and weighing so much more than such a simplistic concept. I think Erinn's not the winner. I'm probably wrong, because I'm almost always wrong. So she probably wins. Or else I'm right, and Stephen wins. Or else Taj wins and I sucked altogether. No matter what happens, need I really pack my bags and go home? I'm perfectly happy to go about being wrong again. I do it often. Go Stephen.

To be fair, Marcus did NOT have the winner edit. He was a boring, bland player that simply made the first alliance that we saw of the season. He didn't
have any connections to the end game and all he had to do was mention his alliance and people creamed themselves to vote for him as a CP player. He was just a
MOR player and given the top pick because he got the most visibility of most of the Kota's.
But another thing Edgic tends to look over is themes that tie into the edit. If that was looked at, Bob could have definitely been discovered because of the themes of the season, with the Garden of Eden and not falling for temptation. Everyone else was shown to fall for some sort of temptation and Bob stayed out of it all, being the purest of players left and thus won. That's why looking at the beginning of the game and the theme of first impressions to connect the winner to that. Stephen/JT both have first impressions that they have overcome. Stephen just saw JT as a country hick and other players saw Stephen as a nerdy and weak player. But both have proven their first impressions WRONG. As far as I can recall, no one commented on Taj's first impressions, so she's knocked out by that. Erinn/Coach both have negative first impressions and they failed to prove it wrong, Erinn is called to be a bitch and has been seen as one, Coach was commented on his "coach" status, that no one needs a coach out in Survivor. Both have failed to overcome these impressions, thus they cannot win. Steve/JT F2. |

Yes, as of now it's certainly possible that the HII is just used by Stephen even though he has no chance of being voted out, a la Yul. But it's also possible that there is some insurrection and the HII is used unexpectedly. That would be cool, and would also be an intriguing way to have JT and Stephen break apart. Personally, I don't think the idol will be used in any dramatic way. But to say it's too late has a bit to much certainty for me. |

That's what I meant - the idol won't be used in any dramatic way. Heck, it hasn't even been mentioned in the edit in the last several episodes.

Yeah - I remember how s9 opened with the sacred greased-pole holy rock ritual, how it gave power, etc. Well, the guy who retrieved said sacred pebble
didn't even make the merge, and the sacred cobble wasn't again mentioned until the finale, when Chris returned it to the sacred pile of rocks on
another island. Talk about a powerful payoff for a sacred ritual.
Although Chris did win. Yes, the rock had mysterious powers all along... |

There is no new idol anyway and Stephen has the only HII left in the game so I don't see the point about the all that argument about a new HII.
Still my picks are... Stephen Erinn Taj/JT are our distractions next to Coach. It's Stephen or Erinn though Stephen has the better edit. |

I expect the eds to make the vote something of a mystery the same way they try to make the TC votes a guessing game. chap: Sure there was a classic winner's edit last season, Marcus did. That's why a "winner's edit" is a fallacy. People hated Marcus as a front-runner. I say one big reason was how bland his character was. And that blandness was a clue as to why he didn't fit the Edgic winner expectations. Marcus had no doubt, no fears, no musings about how he'd get to the end. Look at this season: Stephen opened with his fear of being the first voted off. We were then told his fear of being the target of the red-neck. Stephen's been a supposed second-banana underdog all season. He's never had things sewn up like Marcus. (At least that's what the eds want us to see.) |

Don't hear me wrong...my glibness isn't intended to be a knock on edgic, it's that Marcus had the first few episodes of a Earl-esque winners'
edit. Last season's winner didn't have a "classic winner's edit" hence my point is that edgic's doing a lot more than just trying
to decide who has "THE" winner's edit. What we do is much more nuanced. Yes, trying to figure out who's winning, but not without a lot of
ambiguity, gray, and healthy debate. So as much as I've given the Erinn supporters a hard time, I also see where they're coming from.

kishuu, the only hidden idol under discussion is the HII currently held by Stephen. We're just wondering if it will be used in a surprising or unexpected
way. The consensus (well, Oo and me) is... probably not. Hope that I'm wrong, cuz that sort of surprise at TC is always fun... at least for the viewer.

Something else to keep in mind: The last three episode titles have been quotes either by or about the people who have been booted ('It's funny when people cry; They both went bananas; The ultimate sacrifice). Might be an idea to avoid finding out the next episode title, just in case it's something like, you know, "Tyson's the bitch, not me!" |
