Erinn is nobody's choice to win. The shamrocks minithread was funny, and was for those who put Erinn in the top 3 of their list. Not numero uno. They've all come to their senses, save for Taj's lone vote.
So what is all the fuss about?

Blake's been giving Erinn a "0" every week since early in the season, simply as payback to the Shamrocks. Oh well.X Hopefully next season we are on the same page again, Oo. I misses you |

"...If you can have filet mignon or your assistant coach..." And I was sad for Randy and his only love, his dog. Deb CPM4 ![]() ![]()
Deb desperately gets her game on, but her alliance was never really more than Coach and Tyson. I loved some of the evil music played when she was working JT and Stephen. Erinn MORP2 ![]() ![]()
A holding pattern for Erinn. She got to highlight her ability to survive the outdoors again. Everybody got a shot of P from the visits- from- home. JT CP4 ![]() ![]()
Still talking like an identical twin. But, the edit continues to have him making "Me and Stephen" statements and we get 100% trust again. After Stephen wins the IC, JT continues to expect his plans are 100% the same as Stephen's: "I look over at Stephen and see the necklace around his neck. It's just like I got the necklace.... we just keep battlin' it out, keep doin' what we're doin' /break/ we can do this!" There's gotta be a pay-off for all this trust. It's also notable that the promises to the others are all being shown as made by JT, while Stephen literally keeps his head down. JT, "I hate lyin' to anybody. Anybody I gotta lie to I try and avoid 'um, so the sooner I get the people I gotta lie to outta the game the better." This is a seriously bad strategy on JT's part. All of that hero-worship is going to come back as anger from everyone who thought they had a deal with him. Stephen CPP3 ![]() ![]()
His edit continues to be absolutely perfect. He's never shown as the one actively making promises to anyone. But, we hear his thoughts about every step and every reason for his moves. He continues to be JT's twin. But JT continues to be shown as a little less thoughtful and a bit more caught up in the emotional distractions: Though very similar, note the difference in these two comments: JT, "...I'm so sick of Debbie!" Stephen, "I'm really starting to dislike her!" Stephen always echoes JT, but he's never the one with the initial outburst. Taj OTTPP3 ![]() ![]()
Taj is at the top of her edit roller coaster. It's all down from here. Eddie George OTTP ![]()
Eddie gets the sweet husband award. Winner Stev'o
I think the editors want us to see Jalapao as the underdogs at the merge, who manage to pull an upset. And I think they have tried to make Stephen look like someone who's overcome big odds to get to the top. Jeff, "That was one of the biggest come-from-behind victories, ever!" Stephen, "I was pretty much last!" Stephen's speech after the TC segment: "JT and I /break/ we came into this merge basically expecting to be picked off and now we're in the dominant position.... so /break/ to have done that /break/ together /break/ with Taj and JT. To have stuck tight even when all these different factors were vying for our attentions /break/ we feel pretty good about it!" Could it be a Stephen, Taj, JT feel-good ending? Not likely. I really hope not! But any which-way, it looks like "the geeky city kid goes from desperate underdog to come-from-behind victory." I know, I know, it's bs, but that seems to be the story.

Using that poster as an example of anything is pretty ridiculous, since it's just some dumbass ghost trolling for attention.
Eddie gets the sweet sexy hunk of a man husband award. Better. |

I still think Erinn is going to win kinda
Stephen is still my top pick but hopefully he's voted out Thursday or the first boot on Sunday a la Ken. *fingers crossed* |

colleenlover wrote: I agree... I thought the pre-merge was really good but the merge wasn't. The pre-merge was very suspensful because you really didn't know if there would be a swap, or which tribe would win immunity (even though I liked Gabon and its pre-merge, it is fun going into an episode not knowing who would win immunity because the tribes are so evenly matched.) Once the merge hit, it was just predictable. And not like China where you knew most likely Todd would win but thought there was a slight chance everyone else could get it together. JT/Stephen/Taj just steamrolled and there was never any doubt that they would. And I disagree, Mikester, that Erinn has "clearly been bitchy." I think she got caught with her pants down with the Candace vote and then she went into hiding after that hoping people would forget. And they did, because Brendan and Sierra made themselves target. I'll never understand the logic of "we think Brendan is teaming up with Jalapao so let's team up with Jalapao to get him out" but that's OK. |

The tension is just not there for me. You like it better when Edgic gets totally f**k'd-up! Lol. Well, the whole season hasn't felt like homework, has it, cl? We still might (hopefully) have a Cirie move left in somebody this season. |

cindidindi76 wrote:Not really. It's pretty much the same thing I feel like I keep hearing, just in capital letters. Erinn was my original winner pick way back when the show started, but now I think it'll be Stephen. Or possibly JT. I really just don't see Erinn winning this, though it has nothing to do with her edit. |

Eddie gets the sweet sexy hunk of a man husband award. Lol. I wouldn't put it in exactly those terms, but "studly" should have been in there somewhere. |

Logic tells me Stephen is winning, but everything else makes me say Erinn. So I might be the only one here, but I'm still going for an Erinn win.
There's just something about her that screams "demise of the Jalapaos" Think of it as a gut feeling that has 0 chance of being right.

Sceptic reflected:
We always think of Ulong as the poster child of a lousy tribe. Well, no. they just couldn't win challenges. Tambira won challenges but had no concept of how to play the game. That is part of the endless fascination of this game for me. That you can have 20, 30, 40, 50, 500+ iterations of it, you can try to cast the same sort of stereotypical personality types, and you still end up with something wildly unpredictable every time - something that could not have possibly been scripted. Question: If you erased the short-term memory of an entire season's cast and put the same cast on the same location to play the same game, would it turn out the same? |

FallenTorch wrote: And Timbira WAS always way more complex than Jalapao, which is why I stupidly picked Sierra pre-merge (note that I took her off then and never put her back on.) But the Erinn resurgence I can understand. I'm really starting to think she wins. Stephen and JT have really become too much of one person. You never really had Parvati saying "Cirie and I" when taking credit for her moves. |

Stephen and JT are Tom and Ian, except this time we get the final 2 matchup everyone wanted to see in Palau.

Well JT said it. I think Stephen can still win, but he won't be in the F2 with JT.
Also, if Erinn wins, we need to seriously consider just how important complex tribe theory really is, because she has pretty much nothing else going for her, just like Bob last season. |

flf, you post this vidcap and you still believe that Stephen has a perfect edit?I repeat: "I look over at Stephen and see the necklace around his neck. It's just like I got the necklace.... we just keep battlin' it out, keep doin' what we're doin' /break/ we can do this!" I'm implying that the edit has been setting JT up for a Stephen let-down of some sort for a long time. Could it be a Stephen, Taj, JT feel-good ending? Not likely. I really hope not! |
