Actually, I rather liked this episode. Whoever said Coach's "Loved One's Visit" person of "assistant coach" as kind of sad was accurate. I expected a sister, his mom, someone to make him seem like he was a real person and not something spawned from a rejected marvel comic. And didn't the concept of a "coach" bringing an "assistant coach" who did odd contortions with him seem a little... unusual? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

And I thought it interesting that Coach mentioned "Taj's" HII several times. I wonder how or when it's going to come into play. Maybe at F5 (isn't F5 the last time it can be used?) Stephen will simply use it, even though he isn't in jeopardy, and Coach (and the jury) will see that and think, "How the F did he get it?"

I was tempted to give Taj an OTTPP for her loved one's visit and the auction. Everyone (except coach?) handing her their money was one of the nicest gestures I've seen in reality TV. That wasn't real SPV, but damn. Then she got strategic back at camp and the extra P became superfluous.

Poor Deb - day late, dollar short. She should have sold herself as a vote, not as a F3 "You're my BFF's" speech. She simply oversold it. Their body language while listening to her while in the jungle was wonderful. JT and Stephen were almost folded up on themselves (they looked like human mobius strips). Anyone who's had a background in sales - which apparently doesn't include elementary school principals - would have seen they were utterly rejecting what she was selling. Know your audience, gal. But her final speech was classy.

Erinn - I still have no idea what her plans are. She is lasting in the game, but that's all. I did like her episode. She had the best comments about the meaning of the loved one's visit - but not much about the game compared with everyone else. And I must admit, when they showed Coach by himself in the river and then cut to Erinn walking alone in the jungle, I thought to myself that she was going to him to tell him what's going on. That would have been interesting! But no...

JT and Stephen. They have no doubt? My gosh, that whole spiel at the baby waterfall was to me serious doubt. Doubt doesn't come just in the form of SPV. I was thinking - my gosh, they're too confident. That is serious doubt. And I don't think this is something that only edgic'rs would see. I'm guessing average viewers would see this and think maybe these guys will get their comeuppance. And Stephen's bewilderment that they are in control and people come to them was almost reassuring. He isn't all that confident. He's astonished.

The problem as I see it is that we've seen zero inkling of the other 3 considering going against them. Coach is still deluding himself that they're playing his game rather than Survivor. Taj is utterly confident that she is F3 with the two of them (so she's not going to vote for either one), and Erinn is a cypher. In a sense, though (and based only on what we've seen) Erinn is playing a very bright game. She is with no alliance, has made no promieses. She is more than willing to go with the flow, and the flow is JT and Stephen. She's sort of like Sandra-lite, but without the good edit. Nevertheless, if that's the game she's playing based on her position, props.

btw, Stephen's explanation of how to memorize the arithmetic symbols was brilliant. Listen to it again. No stammering, no uncertainty. They did NOT have to include that, but they did. And the only SPV comment you heard was JT, who was in his "we" mode. To me, the way the IC ended was the exclamation point for Stephen's victory.
