At the beginning of the RC, the editors take the time to show us a bemused Taj telling Sierra "Damn, JT is fast.." 2. Stephen's subsequent reference to JT going on a (IC) run. I picked up on this as well and found it a little odd that it was added. I believe that JT does, in fact, go on an immunty run now that Tyson is out of the picture. There really is noone left, other than JT, that could be an immunity threat. Coach sucks at life, and in challenges. Stephen is just not physical at all, but would do very well at mental challenges. And the women, well they have not proven themselves at any type of threat at all. Deb's immunity had a lot to do with luck, twiggy Sierra is certainly not a threat, and the same is true for Taj. Erinn is the only woman left with any kind of physical ability. 1. JT 2. Stephen 3. Erinn

ETA: Augustus... yes, we do occasionally give out the PP rating (see examples above), but it is a rare thing, and special.... just like the NN....there aren't many of them. but sometimes a single Negative just doesn't cut it. Sierra the edited character is being overhauled and forced/pounded to fit into a certain formula puzzle piece that has a lot of weight. Still think final two is a combo of Stephen/JT/Sierra. JT is obvious. Now what has more weight? That he loses a crucial final immunity challenge and misses out on his sure win? Hmmmm, not sure about that since we have been given the important hand shake deal that could surely be the framing of the jury council. Does Stephen need a plot point, or is it enough that he is just not JT? Sierra? Yikes. Certainly enough material- the sickness, Coach's relationship. Final two most likely: JT/Stephen 2: JT/Sierra (!!) 3. Sierra/Stephen.

I thought the decision to "show" JT participating (feasting & capo-ing) and not talking about how great it was, was smart. It did 2 things... 1. they focused on two neglected women who are shaping up to be late-gamers. I'd say this makes it a lock for at least one of them to be F4. and 2. It helped "cool-down" JT's tone AND his vis....he's been a bit hot lately. And since in Burnett land, choosing to sit out to eat instead of participate in immunity is usually viewed as a BAD thing... that they didn't focus on JT AT ALL, was very, very telling. All we saw was him decide and then sit down to eat. All of the eating shots and anything from Probst was directed at Stephen and Coach. Stephen, we know is hungry, and there was focus on his reasoning in the episode why he chose to sit out (no food at exile)... Coach got NSPV from Tyson and he also the "regret" confessional, showing that his choice was probably not a good one. JT was not focused on at all.... he was shielded from something that is normally viewed by the editors as a bad thing.... i thought that was really interesting. eta: and more spelling. For me, the emphasis in this episode on others noting JT's possible challenge domination confirms that he will likely be blind-sided. And that breach of trust will be an issue, especially now that he has spectacularly betrayed his vows. Take alook at the heavily edited TC exchange. Probst tries to clarifiy what might constitute 'honorable battle': "As long as we both agree on how we're going to do this, I'll battle you," he volunteers but, interestingly, instead of seeing Coach address Probst's 'honorable battle'construct, what we're instead shown is Coach telling us what he'll do to anyone who crosses him. He'll transform into 'a ravenous wolf and cut them off at the knees'. And it is JT who fills our screens as we're told that he'll do it 'without remorse and without regret'. It may or it may not be coach that JT will have to look at over his shoulder but I feel his own blind-side is just around the corner. Stephen 1. Sierra 2. Coach - OTTM4 His OTT stems from his TC comments, his opening scene with "defeating the dragon," his choice at the IC (with accompanying confessional), and even his talks with Sierra. Almost every scene he was in was an OTT one this time around. I'm giving him M because he seemed more self-aware than usual (amazing, right?), pulled out some pity for Sierra, and reflected on his poor choice at the IC. Merhag - OTTP3 Her RC comments were completely OTT: she had %%@%#, music, everything. Her performance at the IC and all the congratulatories added to her OTTP status, for me. Erinn - CPM3 I think the CP is a definite given. She spelled out her game and what her position has been and identified the moves she needs to make. At the time of the RC, I was actually going to rate her P: she got a lot of the typical sappy RC comments, tempered with the eating too much scene (played as humorous, in my opinion). Her snark toward Sierra and admittance of being a liar where slightly N. Overall, I think that she had enough manipulation to avoid a static neutral, but not enough positivity or negativity to warrant either one. M it is. JT - CP3 I'm not sure of this one - he might be MOR. Most of his commetns were related to Sierra being the next one to go, and then he got a bit with the Tyson blindside (but was it even a confessional?). I thought his scene with Coach and going back on his word could definitely have been played more negative than they were. Sierra - OTTM5 This one's straight-forward, right? She had sympathetic music and a bit of viewer pity to get a tad of P, but had plenty of reinforced negativity that she's a lame whiner. M. Stephen - CP3 Like JT, I'll have to rewatch this one. Other than Exile he didn't seem to be too present, so CP may be a stretch. Taj - INV1 Just like Crystal's edit - this big force premerge followed by a mostly UTR post-merge presence. Tyson - OTTN3 It's Tyson, of course he's OTT. I think NN is a huge stretch, though - he's negative, yes, but, he was pretty much only negative toward Sierra, who was also identifiied by the viewer as a slightly N character. I felt that a lot of his comments too Sierra were overdone, but reinforced. Additionally, his decision to play in the IC despite his "Warrior alliance" abandoning him was slightly P. --- So, how about that eating at the IC? Tyson, Coach, and even Taj got to comment on it, painting the eaters in a slightly negative manner. Back when it first came out in Guat and Exile, it was a huge N deal. In Guat, the cocky Steph Alliance decided to eat and rub it in, making the IC a huge negative affair. In EI, Aras was the only member of his alliance to compete, so of it course it was going to be a big deal. In China, however, Todd ate with most of his alliance, leaving only Amanda to compete against Frosti and Peih-Gee. How was it handled there? IT WASN'T. Amanda got to say one tiny sentence during the challenge and it was completely glazed over otherwise. Here, it was noted, but not emphasized. Does it mean anything? Probably not, and I just wasted two paragraphs.

Of them all I think JT is the least likely to win. I just see him as a distraction. A bigger distraction than even Coach. I keep coming back to all the spv we've gotten about Sierra throughout the season. It seems like there's no way she could ever win, right? idk. She has so many connections. Like that "Sierra is a lying bitch" thing with JT? Where did that come from? Why include that?

I eliminated Sierra because her UTR string was just too long and through the penultimate merge episode. JT is reaching astronomical levels of distraction (in my humble opinion). Stephen's fine. Erinn is going to become another late-game Amanda, it looks like. (so I'm watching 27 Dresses on HBO and just realized that obnoxious sister is Silk Specter. Crazy.) [/rambling]

Agreeing with points, last one Phoenix pointed out but also connecting them - ironically these two points are extremely connected if you look at them from the reverse context and how two negatives we usually see in this show were edited THIS time 1. Going to a reward and not having a single phrase about it is good for the winner? 2. Sitting down to eat when you have a challenge to compete and don't say nothing about that in your defense is good for the winner? Work backwards If your winner (disclaimer inserted that I am not claiming JT to be the winner but in context) was shown eating at an IC while others are standing in the pouring rain and also starving would you not (as an editor) "dumb down" this winners presence at a FEASTING reward? It is actually brilliant editing - JT gets to go on a great eating reward but :gasp he sits out of an IC to eat again where others didn't get this reward, are standing in the pouring rain and this is a key IC because supposedly everyone wants Sierra gone? What do we do??? We completely tone down his presence at the feast reward so as to almost try to force the viewers to forget that he was there and let's also make sure we don't really focus on the fact he chose to eat at the IC - no comments from him about it and just for good measure let's make Tyson's confessional about him being hungry but still competing thrown in with Coach's name attached to take more focus off of JT. Your two points are absolutely right and if you separate them from the other it would be bad for JT; the fact that they connected them by not doing either seems pretty positive for JT and what they are trying to show (or not show)

It's a weak CP, but I say it's there. I said it before and I'll say it again; CP for Stephen is utter bullshit. He said nothing complex on exile, only that there was no idol and a sarcastic comment about how fun it is. At camp, all he did was say a couple of sentences about blindsiding Tyson. No personal insight, nothing. That was left to J.T. and Erinn. If Stephen gets a CP, then fricken Stacy from Fiji should have gotten it when she talked about blindsiding Edgardo ... same type of situation. Stephen was MOR.

I agree ILT, Quantum Survivor can get pretty weird in the math department. But, hey! Look on the good side. In one or maybe even a dozen quantum realities, Erinn wins! Just not in this one I'm afraid. And I really like Erinn. And I'm a big Parvati fan from both seasons, so there. (Okay, a serious post after I rewatch today...)

It's Friday, I'm only good for one thought provoking observation :-) I'll take a whack though lol. Sent by JT..... (yes! not bad strategy for the brawny guy eh?) Stephen's sarcastic remark re: EI notwithstanding, for ME (note the emphasis on ME :-)) the fluff was that EI scene. No real insight into the game by him there, nope but come on, those camera shots!! I said in the PBP while I was typing that it reminded me of poor Tom Hanks on Castaway. Then cut to him at the IC - shivering, food being offered up after we saw him at desolate EI..... raises his eye to the heavens above thanking the food Gods and chooses to eat. Acceptable? Yep, I would say so. The shivering while eating? I could have looked at it two ways, dude you got no business shivering while you are snarfing down food while these others are playing and shivering OR just not connect the two because hey, in the back of my head, the poor guy just got back from EI

Debbie - MORP3 (Definitely positive this episode and we got into her head a little bit during the reward.) Erinn - CP3 (The earlier N was probably because she's just so naturally bitchy, but she wasn't really EDITTED as a bitch.) J.T. - MOR3 (There wasn't really complexity in his edit so much as he was saying what was going on.) Sierra - CPP5 (She's a whiny person, but the edit was basically one hundred percent on her side. When everyone was calling her a bitch and all that, we weren't shown a lot of justification behind it, other than that she was just in the minority at the vote. And we got into her head a lot, so CP.) Stephen - MOR2 (Definitely a quiet episode for him.) Taj - UTR1 (Barely there.) Tyson - OTTNN4 (I mean, he was cocky, arrogant, and he openly insulted the person we were supposed to be rooting for, right before he got blindsided out of the game.) Winners: J.T. (This could be the doubt he needs right now. Plus his eating during the challenge wasn't focused on.) Stephen (He's had a consistent edit all game.) Sierra (Great opening and she went under-the-radar for a while, only to become big again now, right around the time that Bob became important.) Erinn (She's not eliminated, but really, would they show the winner picking her nose, having food fly out of her mouth, and vomiting?)

Instead we got the funny confessional about Erinn be just like the little kid who ate a lot and then ran around and played, and then puked. Sierra is not F2. Her story finishes with the "begging" from Coach next episode.. E/T/J/S control the next boot among C/D/S. But we (the viewers) were definitely supposed to be rooting for Sierra, thus making her positive, at least in my opinion
