Interesting episode! I love this season! I had picked JT as my winner pick from episode one and I am sticking with it....However, a few things concern
me.....at the reward challenge, Stephen kept trying to pick off the black teams tile and JT said, " Stephen, what are you doing man?" Then, when JT
and Stephen were talking about Brendan wanting JT to win, Stephen was like, " Why would he want that?". JT's face registered a little surprise in
the way Stephen said it. Could it be that Stephen turns on JT in the end? Or, maybe he tries and is not successful? I don't think the good ole southern boy
would not take Stephen turning on him very well. Friendships and loyalty are important to him. So, obviously, I am not the casual viewer and I have doubt that
JT can pull this off.
It is interesting that all the players have said they love JT. What are we not seeing? I , too, love JT but I see his confessionals and know how he is playing the game. Does this hark back to first impressions? And although Brendan was blindsided and may feel betrayed, JT has Brendan's vote.......he voted for Sierra. I agree with Phoenix...... I think this is a season where the winner is not hidden and that would be JT.........and NO, JT is not the distraction.........Stephen is.......... Then again, I am one of the fools who jumped on the Marcus bandwagon early on in Gabon, so go figure......what do I know? |

^ not to mention Caryn's "Tom, oh Tom" comments since the season started and the fact that he turned on her at the end when she got voted out.
THenagain, Caryn fought with Katie too.

JT and Stephen will most likely win, sadly. But I believe there is an outside chance that:
Erinn will become a Sandra like winner, the last one standing in a season of craziness. or Sierra will get another underdog story, starting next episode, and win. Because if she was shown in the last two episodes it would have only been the same Exile cockiness as before, so she might start at the bottom again and work her way up. |

I absolutely loved that episode. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Prelim ratings... Ben - OTTN5 Brendan - OTTM4 Merhag - UTR1 Erinn - MOR2 JT - CPP4 Sierra - UTR2 Stephen - OTTP3 Taj - MOR2 JT versus Stephen is about to become this season's big argument. It goes all the way back to the flip-flop of EP01/EP02... JT gets the game comments in the premiere supported by Stephen as an extension of JT's edit, only to be reversed in EP02. I can see how JT is similar to Tom, but I never thought Tom would win Palau because his edit was too in-your-face and dominant. Stephen almost looks too perfect. His excess of pre-merge CP's with clearly spelled-out gameplay after the merge is sooo perfect... but I can't shake the feeling of that premiere and his comments, while present, only being used to further JT's (and, to a lesser extend, Sandy's) edit. JT is getting every jury connection that there is. So is the story going to be us holding our breath over how he can possibly get to the F2, where he wins, or is it him distracting from Stephen, his alliance-partner who will make just as satisfying as a winner when JT gets an early boot? Hard to call. So I'm going with Tyson. <3 |

It really is a toss-up between J.T. and Stephen for me, but something about the
quotes J.T. gets worry be a little about his chances. First off, he has extremely high visibility, which isn't the greatest for his chances. But secondly,
there is an underlying thread to his edit I find uncomfortable:

(1) Stephen, (2) Erinn, and (3) JT are the only remaining contenders, in that order.
Brendan was such a loser with only one ally in the end. I'm proud that he was NEVER in my top 3 after he narrowly escaped UTR1 in ep.1, then got a flat boring edit, then was a key part of the overconfident Exile Alliance (where only Wizard Stephen expressed doubts). When Brendan called Coach a predictable player, I correctly saw it as an ironic quote and not a winner quote. Sierra has been UTRN1 for two straight episodes. In the Recap and ep.1 she was UTR1. Someone might win with UTRP or CPN or MORN, but the combo os low visibility and negativity is ALWAYS the kiss of death. Her story peaked ep.2. JT is reminding me of S11 Steph and S16 Ozzy. You'd think he was a returning fan favourite the way Coach, Brendan, and Erinn all want to allign with him. Some people will be disappointed. However,the only person who can stop him from winning is likely Stephen. And the Wizrd WILL stop him, just like Parvati stopped Ozzy, because Stephen is a gamer not a hero worshipper. He will catch on to the "everybody loves JT" thing. Also JT is super-positive and super-visible, making him a distraction. There is nothing in doubt if he makes F2. Erinn - guess what, she had the highest Vis factor of any female. Every other Timbit wants to work with Jollypal, but Erinn wants to be the 4th Jollypal. And JT seems happy to let her take Joe's spot. I think her story is not only outlasting Tyson and Coach, but supplanting Taj as the F2 goat for Stephen or JT. Remember, JT had a negative reaction to Taj being filthy rich ("I could sure use a million dollars a lot more than Taj would") and almost booted her instead of Sydney. I think Erinn will avenge Joe and Syd by taking Taj's spot. Ironically her EA with a medivaced player will serve her better than anything Brendan, Taj, and Sierra cooked up. Stephen is now "the Wizard." Yes, Coach has found a positive and realistic role for him in his fantasy world of warriors. And Stephen got a big scene making fire in exile and overcoming first impressions. And he'd nicely hidden behind JT and Coach. So I'm making The Wizrd my official merge pick. Merge Part 2 didn't really chance anything edgically, except show where Erinn stands.and reveal JT as more of a distraction. Is there a chance Erinn could beat Stephen in the edit? Yes, but a very slim one (based on both editing an game logic). If Erinn wins, they story would be more about how other people lost and the juiry was bitter. |

If Sierra is NOT gone next episode, who is? Nasty McNasty. Who's had the Individual Immunity Necklace around his neck for two eps in a row? Who makes the nastiest, cruelest, least-explained attacks on Erinn and Sierra? City Mouse and Country Mouse know there can be only one challenge monster and that all other challenge contenders need to go asap. Oh and.... Go Stepherino!

Tyson's toast in my opinion.
In the promo he says to Sierra "oh I know you weren't the mastermind, you're not smart enough". To me, that's a dead giveaway that Tyson gets smoked next episode. Sierra goes to Jalapao who also recruits Erinn and they take out Tyson before Coach because of the immunity threat Tyson poses. |

Interesting the way the 'honourable opponent' theme has played out. In two key instances where it has highlighted (Coach/Brendan and Brendan/JT),
betrayal has ensued.
Sierra is not going anywhere next week. You don't edit both Probst and the episode's bootee devoting valuable time fretting about someone's chances if they are to go the following episode. You also don't edit Tyson calling her stupid on two different occasions if there is no ironic comuppance to follow. BTW, there are only one of two people still in the game being edited as overcoming first impressions. Sierra, shown to be overcoming being a model, in danger, sickly and stupid, is one. The other is, of course, Stephen, who has been given an extended EI scene to showcase him mastering yet another thing he and everyone else didn't think he could do. And, we all know what fire means in this game. |

Shoot them? That is what he does to his enemies? OK. I wouldn't discount him because of his comments. Both Aras and Terry admitted that they hated to lose. Additionally, I also think Aras made a negative comment about Terry and him possibly hitting a woman. And who could forget, "Call the whambulance! Terry is crying on the course!" And guess what, he won that season. Parvati and pee water. I don't think it really matters what the players say unless they are ridiculous, like Tyson and Coach. They, in my mind, are edited as villians. If either one of those two win, I will be very very confused. I just might need counseling. As for JT, and the 30-30 winchester comment, he lives in the South and he is a cattle farmer. I am sure guns are not uncommon to him. As an alpha male, he might just target practice for fun. Hell, I live in the North.....my brother target practices for fun and he hunts as well. JT was just commenting on how ridiculous Coach and his story was. It will be interesting to see if Coach will ever have the opportunity to cut his warrior loose........I am hoping he does not........ |

F2 baby! Erinn made better First Impressions than Sierra with the Jollpal who are running the show now. Remember, Joe made that comment about how Sierra "looked angry." He decided to spend his exile with Erinn. Now Erinn has apprqaoched JT ro claim Joe's spot in the tribe. Sierra only went to exile with Taj, not Stephen, and its the guys who are calling the shots. Sierra also had that ackward questions at the emrge feast, and JT dissed her shelter.

yeah, those JT comment were obviously - cl, another way to see it is a) We have multiple references by JT of trusting Stephen 100%. b) 1. Stephen's first confessional was basically that he was glad there was the "strung-out old lady" to throw to the wolves and spare him from going first. 2. Stephen's always spoken of using people to get ahead. 3. Stephen has spoken of using his "goofy sidekick" role to "go farther" in the game. c) 1. "Sore loser", "I hate to lose", and the, I'd wanna go back and shoot 'um, (said directly to a slightly stunned Stephen), may point to JT's fury over Stephen's betrayal of him. 2. Stephen still gets the votes and wins. or d) Stephen pulls a fast one but fails and an angry, vengeful JT gets his revenge and Stephen is booted. I say the former, but we'll see. |

The Timbits were turning into the Sugar Memorial Tribe with their JT love. You can understand Erinn making that move, since she'd seeking a tribal home, but the rest of them ?!? Even better, Stephen and JT were totally not buying it. They figured Brendan was a gamer and was bullshitting them. |
