In most seasons, Freddie would be a love/hate character, he does have an annoying personality at times, mostly when he's trying to be some type of mastermind. This group has so many unpleasant people, there's no one to contrast him in a way which doesn't make them look terrible. Like Karly, who is so obvious in trying to fit in and trying to show Freddie up for viewers, and she not only helped to ruin the singing task, but she also made sure her singing voice, probably one of her more tolerable features, was totally overshadowed. Smart strategy, Karly.

Rodrigo is so righteous, it can become dull. He needs to just wear his underwear more often.

Charlie, annoying as hell, but smart enough to never snap at Freddie. He will always look better than most of the people in his group. And this seems to be another reason Freddie has a bit of a crush on him.
