Yeah, TV talk for anniversary is a bit different than the definition for anniversary. The Simpsons have had 500th anniversary episodes, but it's not like
the show has been around for 500 years (although it may seem like it sometimes). If you want to get really anal about it, an anniversary is supposed to
commemorate a specific day in the year, not multiple events over a few months. The more appropriate term would probably be "annual", which starts the
count at the first installment and isn't date restrictive.
Wow, that was too much technical talk for a Sucks thread. Anyway, although I have only seen clips here and there, I'm sad to see the original version coming to an end. I wonder if this will have any effect on the US version, the mentality of yeah...maybe we are beating up a dead horse.
