Like others, those that showed strategic moves in the season but either fell short due to someone else's actions or just pure luck got some points from me. Like some of the Mallrats, Rotu 4, Raros, Oniontards. Because even though they fucked up their games, they showed some strategy. But if someone only got far due to luck of events not normally in the game, like injuries/quitters, I docked them points, like how Tina lucked out that Mike fell in the fire and how Parvati lucked out with so many quitters/evacuations that changed the gameplan and allowed her victory.

Some players go far based on luck that is akin to winning the lottery. Sandra's endgame for example, or Sugar making the merge so well-positioned. The best winners need breaks too, but for them it is more like the luck that a fine pitcher needs in throwing a no-hitter.

Brian and Todd getting on the better tribe in a season with no full-scale switch is a form of luck too. Their game situation had a lower "degree of difficulty" to start, so them controlling things is less impressive than what Yul or Parvati pulled off.

I tried to reward "thinking outside the box" strategists but also playing a good social game.

So basically Parvati giving everyone handjobs off camera is one of those thinking out of the box strategists. -_- Being targetted is not an unusual obstacle, that generally happens to EVERYONE who plays Survivor, nor is being split from your alliance. Many Survivors have dealt with that and not lucked out that people quit and were evacuated from the game to advance to the endgame. Sandra/Jenna M./Chris all got split from their alliances in the endgame and managed to win, granted Chris only made it there because Twila told him what to do, but they didn't have the luck of quitters or evactuations to change the game drastically to ensure their victory.

Parvati's victory is directly due to luck as a result of outside factors influencing the game. The environment caused injuries to 2 players and because of the first evactuation, it directly led to a quitting of another player and that is the only reason Parvati gained power back in nuAirai, because she was dead meat otherwise. Alexis/Natalie only agreed to put up with Jason because they needed him for numbers, but once they lost the glue to their alliance in Jonathan/Kathy, they bailed. No winner in history has encountered the series of events that Parvati lucked into that created her victory. Everyone else used some form of strategy and did something on their own to get to their positions, they didn't just sit there and land into a game chock full of quitters and medical evacuations. The closest person you could say to that is Danni, and even she showed somewhat of a brain in making moves, even though she denied making them and praised God for making them for her.
