They really were a very nice couple, but after hearing their own bit of pontification about the U-Turn? Yeah, that had me hoping they were not only last, but last on an elimination leg.

Because that logic worked so well when Shana/Jennifer used it! It helps out the other teams as a whole, it doesn't help out Margie/Luke individually - if they're in second-last place by the time the next U-turn shows up, they've just gotten rid of a valuable survival tool because they're thinking too much about the endgame. It would have been smarter to boot Tammy/Victor if you were getting rid of a threat, but he wouldn't do that because they're "friends" (and Mike/Mel actually have the better average placement).

Hopefully it'll backfire. It was a bitch move, but it was logical. He can't win foot races against other teams with his mom with him. He has to take out the super fast teams somehow or there's no way to win even if he gets to the end. That said Amanda & Kris really got screwed hardcore.
