Looking back over the past seasons with a top 12.
Carmen - polarizing John - polarizing Constantine - polarizing Kellie - polarizing (last season had a double elimination and doesn't count) Carly - polarizing Carly was a lot more talented than any of the other top six finishers, although Kellie has had a very solid career since her season. |

I don't think Carly did ANYTHING wrong tuesday that led to her boot. Her vocal wasn't perfect, just average for her, but with two trainwreck
performances being safe the same night that obviously wasn't the problem. And she looked a lot better, too. Her hair and eye makeup were a vast improvement
over what she had been doing, the tattoo was covered, etc. Even the silly quasi-hippie T-shirt and nondescript pants were better than what she had been wearing
(she was still WAY short of dressing as well as she could have).
I blame it on pity voting. People felt SORRY for Jason and Brooke and turned out for them in droves. And Carly had a lot of strikes against her right from the start. Her not being American, already having a major-label CD out, and a hideously (and voluntarily) disfigured husband meant an awful lot of people would NEVER support her. I could care less about her husband but the first two did bother me and I didn't vote for her until top 10 (ironically, her first week in the bottom) when I realized she was in trouble and I really wanted her to stay. I will miss her. |

Kenneth, last season was different. There was actual TALENT and PERSONALITY, and not once did I feel like I was violated in the process. But this year... not.
I don't care for any of the remaining five finalists, at least not compared to seasons past. I certainly do not endorse Starsearchuleta (too schmaltzy),
Daughtry 2.0 (too derivative), Screamesha (not in the same league as the other African-American girls on Idol), Brooke Whitegirl (too unstable and boring), or
Jason Castro, but I have to choose the lesser of five evils to back - and that's Jason Castro.

Why do people think it's fun to annoy people's fans and gloat after their fav gets the boot? Isn't it enough that the person you hate is no longer in the competition? Back to Carly, she did get to go out on a high note and her elimination was a lot easier to swallow for me because of that huge smile she had on her face. She wasn't going to win and it's nice that she gets to go out with people thinking she didn't deserve to go over Brooke/Jason who are fucking laughable. |

The studio version of "Jesus Christ Superstar" is good. It's fun to listen to. I'm so happy she got to go out on that high note, and I think
it will mean a lot to her that she finally got good comments from Simon before she left and that Simon had such nice things to say about her before she left
last night. For whatever reason she really wanted Simon's approval so I'm glad she got it.

Once again the person who made this thread hasn't been around this season so it just hasn't been changed. If any of us regular posters in here had made
