Carly should have done "Hero" tonight. Why the fuck did she take Simon's advice on that song? She probably thought Simon might actually give her
some credit if she did it.

damn, "Without You" is Simon's litmus test for singers, he picked it for Kelly and Leona. I think he genuinely wants Carly to do good,
Carly's just too nervous and lacks confidence in what she is capable of. her voice is already so pretty when it's all controlled and restrained but she
has to learn to let go, which is what "Without You" needed. She tackled it too soon if you ask me, the fashion problem was one thing, her on-stage
confidence is another. (oddly enough, the way she sang "When I Need You", back in Hollywood week, was how she should have went in with "Without
You").
And I agree, Carly should've done "Hero". It suits her restrained style quite well. |

Simon is the one who keeps bitching about her confidence and what not but I actually think he's one of the main reasons her confidence seems to get lower
and lower by the week. He's pretty much managed to crack her and destroy any bit of confidence she used to have doing stuff like "Crazy On You"
or "Come Together."
I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for her to have to listen to Simon every week and never get acknowledgment from him on her vocal skill. Either he's babbling on about her picking a song about a blackbird, insulting her fashion choices or just generally trying to avoid saying "hey you're an excellent singer" before moving on to mentioning loosening up. |

Although I'm still bitter over him ignoring "Here You Come Again"; two weeks later and it's still on repeat on my ipod.

Last week I had hope she would make it. This week I have a bad feeling about Carly. She went second and got the worst reviews out of everybody. And even though
Syesha and Brooke are lower than her on DI right now, so too were Syesha and Carly lower than Michael Johns and he got booted. I hope she survives again but
I'm prepared for her to go home tomorrow and just happy she at least survived last week.

You know when Paula starts going to bat for women, Kristy and Carly for example that there is a serious issue. Paula usually hates the girls and drools over
guys, and with actual male talent this season it's surprising to see Paula giving actual praise to the girls. I think though that Paula actually has a
heart and sees that Simon and Randy are being totally unfair and assholish to people like Kristy and Carly and because of that she'll actually fight for
them or give them real credit like they deserve like she did with Kristy this week. I genuinely believe Paula wants to see the contestants treated fairly and
in past she just hasn't be able to help her bias towards the penis. Now that's she's seemingly off the sauce she seems to want to give people a
fair shake.

I was a Brooke fan but I agree, Brooke needs to go. She sucked and she's been getting worse every week and is showing no signs of getting any better. Plus
she is easily one of the most annoying people ever to be on the show. I think she found out that people are annoyed by her talking and she still can't help
herself. Shut the fuck up Brooke.

I don't think she wants to be there anymore, she seems over it. Interesting song choice. Heart covered Without You on their 1978 album Magazine so Carly
is sticking to her Ann Wilson fandom. I thoughs she got off to a good start, but lost it somewhere, I can't put my finger on it.

She probably sees which way the wind is blowing, with the two Davids dominating the competition. It's hard to muster a lot of enthusiasm when you know
you're basically playing for 3rd place at best.

I agree. Carly does good every week and she doesn't get an ounce of praise. But honestly, if she thinks she doesn't have a chance to win this, she
should just go out and actually have fun each week that she's there. At least enjoy yourself if you think you're not long for the competition. Maybe
that way, she'll get some great performances in and have a glimmer of hope for reaching the Finale?
I think i've been "wowed" by every contestant this season with the exception of her. She's always good, but I want Carly to blow me out of my socks. |

She needs to take tips from Kristy.
Kristy can probably go out there every night and give it her all without nerves because she doesn't have any grand delusions of actually winning this thing, pleasing the judges or staying out of the bottom 3. She's there, she's having fun, she wants to be there and she's kicking ass and taking names while being cool, calm and collected. She has skills. |

She finally LOOKED the part of a star tonight, and Simon doesn't even mention it.
They obviously want a guy winner, but I HATE how they can never (besides Paula) give her any positive feedback. Ugh, I think she'll stay until final 5 but then she's at risk, I am hoping for final 4. |
