Just because she's emotional doesn't mean she thinks she's too good to perform, nor does it mean she can NEVER perform under any circumstances. The fact that so many of these people can stoically perform like monkeys after being dragged through the mud is much weirder to me. Brooke and Alaina's eliminations were the most emotional and real this season and they both had a hard time singing after their eliminations.

I knew vocals would be her downfall and they were, but I still enjoyed most of her performances. I'm not delusional with my fantardiness, but I am glad she lasted a while and that a lot of people seemed to embrace her for what she was. Not the best vocalist, but something different on a show that's getting very VERY stale. I do think the INTENSE personal hatred for her by some people here is just because this season is boring and they were losing steam with their Archtard hatred.

I think this was a delayed reaction to last week's trainwreck, and people finally realizing she should have been voted off in either of the last two weeks (and that her being totally safe last week was ludicrous). As for fans who are sure this is just the start of a great career for her, I will quote what Michael Johns sang in his last performance: DREAM ON. Nobody in fifth place has had a significant post-Idol career, and to put it as politely as possible, Brooke is not likely to break that streak.
