But who know, it could be live this year. Still, the reason AP does this is to underscore the point that there are plenty of rescue puppies needing homes (cue Sarah McLachlan). And to those bemoaning the lack of their favorite breeds, that's why there are so many mixes -- these are rescue pups from animal shelters, not from breeding kennels. Only a true accident of interbreeding could produce Sarah Jessica Barker....

While we were gone at a Super Bowl party I had left the tv on in our bedroom, playing the Puppy Bowl, and when we came home we couldn't find that fucker anywhere. He wasn't on "his" chair, his crate, or any of the couches. Turned out he was upstairs enjoying Animal Planet while lounging on the bed. Very weird -- since he has never before or since jumped up on the bed without permission or without us being home. It's a compelling show! Puppies rule! Sarah Jessica Barker FTW!
