Danny wasn't really as campy or clownish as Sanjaya and he also didn't perform all that great either ... a bad combo I agree that Danny was much more in-your-face and prissy than Sanjaya. But for the average guy.........they weren't that different in terms of over the top gayness.

Those people may get the votes, but that does not mean they are marketable. No guarantee that Danny will be either, but them staying past him doesn't quite mean he's not marketable. I think at this current time, he more marketable than at least Jacuzzi. Maybe even Hernandez. And by marketable, I don't really mean as in getting a record deal. I think he's probably geared for something in the MTV type show entertainment/correspondence, etc. I can't see Jacuzzi or Hernandez being able to get any type of media gig. David Cook has a better shot at fronting a band and having some moderate success. Just my opinion... I'm not quite sure why I'm feeding the troll.

Sanjaya's personality lay in his hair. He never had the confidence or presence to take on a job like an MTV veejay, or a red carpet reporter. Danny wasn't right for Idol because middle America is still scared of people like him. But give him a TV gig where he can just go at it, and I think he'll be a huge success. BTW, I loved watching his hair get longer through each stage of the competition last night in his recaps. I always forget just how much time goes by between first auditions and what we see live. Nobody is "scared" of someone like Danny. That's such a lame overused excuse. Why does it have to be fear? Why can't it be that some people don't like prissy little flaming smartasses? I also don't like egomaniac hot chicks that are smartasses....Im not afraid of them. Danny will probably get signed on for some lame ass show......he will do about 3 weeks and get canned and you will never hear from him again.

His ego turned people off, like Chris Sligh last year. His gayness turned streights off. His being such an over the top, obnoxious flamer probably turned some gay voters off (and they have LOTS of other guys to pick from in any case). His bad singing turned music lovers off. The fact that he COULD sing well when he tried turned VFTW fans off. The tween girls liked David Archulta better. Because of all this, his being voted off wasn't even totally unexpected (I said it might happen in the Chakezie thread, and others did as well). People who persist in this idiot fantasy about the voting need to grow up.

It doesn't matter that Noriega got voted off... the VFTW votes might have helped him or Amanda stay an extra week on the show Like Noriega and Amanda's week 2 performances were bad. The VFTW votes might have saved them that week. And so on...
