I admit that until recently I haven't really given the Young Divas a chance... even though one time, I did hear them sing Stand Up For Love and was blown away. Well, I've been watching some Young Divas videos, and they're definitely awesome. Besides, what's a girl group if I'm not a fan of them? That Searchin' video is hot. Paulini's my fave (always has been).

Paulini also holds the distinction of being the first Idol contestant I've heard sing a DC song that wasn't Emotion (and that was one of the best live versions of that song I've ever heard). *Quote:* And here I thought DC and I could agree on SOMETHING....but Paulini is my least favorite of the YD! A new single is expected around September with an album coming after that. Apparently a new girl is gonna be added to the line-up, but no word on who yet.

I don't really care about Ricki-Lee being gone but I will not listen to YD anymore if Casey becomes a member. She totally sucks, I hate her. Not to mention she'd fucking ruin the sex appeal of the group. I mean even Emily the man is hotter than Casey.

Well it says it's because Ricki Lee's passion has always been a solo career. But nevertheless, one of the reasons I found Ricki Lee's early/shocking elimination satisfying and not sad at all was that I felt the bitch vibe from her. During season 2, her pal, Emilia Rusciano had a catfight with Hayley Jensen when both wanted to sing Anastacia's To Be Left Outside Alone. But the point is, the girls during that season seemed divided, with Emilia/Ricki-Lee/Amali as the loud/cliquish group and Chanel/Hayley/Casey as the more mature group. I was so happy that in the end, Chanel, Hayley, and Casey were the final 3 girls

I was like why the fuck are people so upset about this chick getting the boot, she's not all that. Then after I heard the YD music and re watched Ricki's performances I liked them. Personally I think it was the bitch vibes that made me hate her and I wasn't paying attention to her voice or anything because she struck me as such a beeyotch. Official announcement: *Quote:* Ricki-Lee goes solo IT'S finally official Ricki-Lee Coulter has given girly cover band The Young Divas the flick. The 21-year-old former Oz Karaoke contender, who'll be exercising her windpipe at the Girlfriend Model Search at Westfield Carindale tomorrow, says it simply all became too much. The Gold Coaster says between the effort of relaunching her solo career and planning her upcoming wedding to fiance Jamie Babbington, she just didn't have the time or energy to meet her Divas commitments. "I will not be appearing any more with the Young Divas," Ricki-Lee told Qconfidential. "I just couldn't do it all I really had to get back to doing what I love doing, and that's my solo career." The confirmation follows months of speculation about Ricki-Lee's future with the quartet egged on by her two-month escape to the US to record album No. 2 and talks of infighting and diva-like (not in a good sense) behaviour within the group. Despite the rumours of discord, however, Ricki-Lee says the final split was more than amicable with the girls having a good heart-to-heart a couple of months ago to thrash out the details. "The girl's have been great, they understand completely. They know where I'm coming from," she says. Meanwhile, Ricki-Lee says she expects the new album Brand New Day (think cheeky and sexy) to hit the shelves on August 11, with her wedding planned on the Gold Coast for September. "We've picked the dress, we've picked the reception and we planned the honeymoon it's just everything else we've got to get sorted now," she says. According to YD management they are going ahead with a tour, a 2nd album and the announcement regarding who the new member will be is coming soon. Anyone wanna take a guess? I would say Jessica Mauboy except as far as I know she's working on her solo stuff right now. Oh and seaguy it looks like you may get your wish. Apparently Lavina has filled in for Ricki-Lee in shows a few times, and recently. Another edit to say that apparently the new YD won't necessarily be from Idol. Ugh, I find that stupid. It would be so dumb with just some random non Aussie Idol chick.
