I think it would have been a lot better if he had done the first verse rather than the second. It was weird hearing it start like that and I think it was hard
to get the song properly off the ground starting with the second verse.
I can think of two reasons why he went for the second, more powerful lyrically verse but I don't know if it helped the performance at all. |

I have a feeling about why he went for the 2nd verse instead of the first. It's the one that gets me too.
His hang up was trying to copy Rain. Cook just doesn't have a strong lower register at all. I really liked the parts where his voice came out. I actually was compelled to vote while watching Hell's Kitchen tonight. |
