I'm a little tired of him turning songs into something way too dramatic.. What's next, is he going to turn "Love Shack" into an emotionally
deep song?

According to Blake Lewis David Cook did give credit to his friend's band Doxology or whatever but it was cut out of those show. He probably said it in his
pre-performance video like he said the White Snake thing but for some reason it got edited out in favour of other footage.

His studio version of Billie Jean is on iTunes. Sounds fantastic. This guy is incredible.

Weird but I love his cockiness.
It's like "screw you arch, I'm better". |

Next week is Dolly Parton? She is one of the most talented songwriters out there and her portfolio is much more extensive than it would seem. Personally, I
would like to see David grab "I Will Always Love You" out of the desperate, cat-fighting clutches of Ramielle, Carly, Artichoke, Syesha and
Kristy--and turn it into something dark and stalkerish. Those girls would just pee themselves in envy. And then Simon can say, "Well, okay. Finally
someone has done a 'Whitney' song without trying to be Whitney." It would also be fun if Jason took it on. Seriously, though, despite the ott
costuming and stage persona, Dolly is incredibly gifted and relevent when she writes for others.

They should just end the show now and hand him the title.

It's better than Cornell's MSN version due to the fact that Cornell's completely mushmouthed singing it. (And I like a lot of his stuff.)

Would not be the least bit shocked if he does a rock version of Jolene. There has probably been a dozen covers of it.

Yeah, the White Stripes did Jolene. So we can look forward to David's impression of Jack White. I'm also getting a little tired of him making every song a grunge-fest, but he's good at it. At least he's upfront about stealing his arrangements, unlike Daughtry. He's also got a more appealing personality than Daughtry. I really wish we could somehow pretend Daughtry never existed and replace him with Cook. |

Personally, I don't think it would be a good idea for David to sing the lyrics "please don't take my man" on American Idol. Let's hope
he give "Jolene" a miss this time.
I heard punk versions of "Islands In The Stream" by Rickshaw and "9 to 5" by Millencolin on iTunes that could be good if they were toned down a bit. I think it would be so fun if he did one of those. |

They should just end the show now and hand him the title. What? And miss the excitement of watching Carly and Archtard slowly self-combust when they come to realize they aren't going to win? What fun is that? |

I totally agree. They should end the show and annoint him the winner. Then we wouldn't have to listen to his grunge/angst cover shit which is so
"original." When his album comes out and sounds like Hinder, I can forget I ever heard of him.

No I kind of think they all suck. David Cook stands out because he's on cheesy AI. In the real world his shit still stinks.

Well, according to Simon these people go on AI because they tried to make it in the "real world" and failed miserably. So they're all in the
same boat in that regard.
