Does BoDog update the odds after the performance show? Because Cook's still holding as the favorite.

It's the exact same as it was. I usually see the odds change around 3-4 in the afternoon. Usually the person with the largest drop seems to be the one
getting voted off.

ZABA has updated with Cook as winner. Gotta love it, at least for a while.

IDOL SHOCKER!
COOK DEFEATS ARCHULETA! ETA memeonly beat me to it but then I can't see it enough. I'm more convinced than ever that we were manipulated to vote. I'm pissed but won't be if it worked.

I want to believe, but I just can't trust the prediction sites. Fox is saying 75,000,000 votes--where are the rest of the votes on Zaba?

I don't trust Zaba at all but I wouldn't be that surprised if Cookie is indeed the winner based on the fact that he probably picked up most of the
discaded idols fanbases along the way--except for probably Brooke's.
I'm starting to get anxious about the big reveal. I guess it will be one of those afternoons at work where the clock barely moves! |

I want to believe too, dagny. My mind is telling me to just accept Archie winning, but my gut is having none of it. Put me in the nauseous anticipation
category.

Final Dial Idol were David Cook with 40.93 and David Archuleta with 29.37.

I honestly believe, based on DI and Zaba, that unless Nigel & Co. are ready to deal with a huge backlash of pissed-off tards, Cook will be declared the
winner. I just don't see them going against the Zaba and DI results, especially DI since it shows Cookie with such a commanding lead.

stop raining on my parade! I have my fingers in my ears while whistling Day Tripper. I will forever live in the land where DC wins this season. Land yet to be
determined, though.

Urg. I'm with you guys. I'm getting antsy already. I am trying not to get my hopes up at all!
Here is a great article from EW. This person is obviously a huge Cook fan...but the last few paragraphs were perfection... http://tvfan.ew.com/shows/American+Idol/recap/639 "So, let's recap. I will download DC's first and third performances and play them a million times (and maybe even the second one to be played on mute). I will not download any of the Fetus' performances. The judges have spent all season praising originality and bravery, and when presented with it in the finale they chose to ignore it in favor of the safe and predictable. The sites have all sorts of theories, including that Simon was trying to motivate DC's complacent fan base to vote. This sounds kind of far-fetched...but ya know, it may have actually worked out that way. I literally voted for 4 hours and I was not alone. If there was a knockout tonight, it was the culmination of David Cook's season long dominance of the competition. He put his heart and soul into every performance and I can't thank him enough for the hours of enjoyment and excitement he's given me. There's only one thing I could do for him to show my appreciation, so that's why for the first time in my life I spent hours voting for a friggin reality show. I'm sure right now David Cook thinks he lost American Idol. I hope tomorrow night he learns that his fans have come through for him and that being the nicest and most sincere contestant, as well as the most talented, brave and original, actually means something. In many ways, that would be a more fitting ending to this saga than if he had been the clear winner tonight. Best of luck, David Cook. You're quite a man, and I for one thank you for everything. Oh yeah...and you're
really hot :)"

Nice article Lobsters! I agree with it too!
I agree too that with such a commanding lead on DI, how could he lose? Seriously???? I know we aren't supposed to rely on DI but that is quite a huge blowout! If he does lose, I call foul! |

Mrs John Frusciante wrote: While I love this argument, Archtards have a similar argument. How can the voting be so Cook-sided when he was clearly shoved under the bus last night? It almost begs the question of whether the show is actually rigged. While I do think the judges try to manipulate viewers with their comments (I would have excepted Paula for this but she obviously wanted Syesha out), I'm not sure there's a big conspiracy. They might have a TCO from day one, but Simon at least seems open to the possibility of a true dark horse. And I do think he judges performances as he sees them, regardless of who he likes better. It's clear he likes Cook better, but didn't think his performances were as good as Archie's last night (and knowing Simon's personal taste as we do, I'm not surprised by this). I still don't get why there was no, "This is going to be really, really close. The closest vote ever, I think." Someone posted somewhere that this would have set the suspense better and I agree. Also might've eliminated some (perhaps I'm delusional) of the conspiracy paranoia. |
