People please stop using words that don't exist like:
Anyways Irregardless |

Not in the sense to which I'm referring, sweetheart. Which should be apparent from the context of my complaint, even to a mouthbreather such as yourself.

Sing it, sister. I know language evolves. Does it have to evolve from mistakes? Do you use "contact" as a verb? If so, you're committing the same "error". But language evolves! |

Generally speaking, no, I do not use "contact" as a verb (I assume you mean as a loose synonym for call or write.) I prefer to be
precise about the method in which I will communicate with someone.

The entrance in dictionary.com lists it as a verb and that particular Usage Note you cited says that it is unclear why the usage provokes such strong
[negative] response.

Anyways, irregardless of what you people think, one thing that DOES bother me is when people use "borrow" instead of "loan", as in
"Will you borrow me a piece of paper."

oh my cod or omc. Look, not believing in god gives you even MORE clearance to use his name. Leave the poor fish alone, and nobody gets hurt. I have never hated any textism more than 'omc'. 'Hai' and 'soz' follow close behind it, but 'omc' is by far the worst offender. |

Yeah but "I <3 Zeep" sounds less skanky than "I wanna sex Zeep up."
And I really do laugh out loud. |

Vee, the same usage note also uses the phrases, "many speakers have begun to regard it as standard" (implying that it is non-standard) and
"...the verb will eventually become as unobjectionable as contact is now, since it will no longer betray any particular pretentiousness on the
part of those who use it." (implying that it does now betray a particular pretentiousness).

Zeep wrote: Sometimes the method isn't necessary - the point is that it is a noun that is now a verb due to the evolution of English - just like "impact". A lot of people say "When I contacted you last Thursday about this bill, you told me that you had paid it." Note that it doesn't matter how you contacted them - called, wrote, came to them in a dream. We have so many other examples of nouns that are now also verbs (i.e., at one point in time they were only nouns) that are extremely common: to head, to showcase, to shoulder.... |

In the present tense, subjects and verbs must agree in number. That is, a singular subject requires a singular form of the verb, and a plural subject requires
a plural form of the verb.
Error: The instructions is confusing. Correct: The instructions are confusing. Error: One of these orchids bloom at night. Correct: One of these orchids blooms a night. |
