The Cast of The Mole on MetroBuzz |
Lead | |
|
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know that Bill, Myra, Darwin (Mole Season 2) and Liz (Season 5) recently appeared on the internet radio show
MetroBuzz. They discuss all 3 regular seasons, thoughts on the changes (and frustrations) of this past season, the Save The Mole campaign, their recent
reunion with all 3 casts and producers, and the possibilities of future seasons and maybe even an All-Star season.

Nice interview. Here are my thoughts:
The Good - Some new and interesting tidbits about stuff that happened during filming of Season 2. - Finally an end to that ridiculous All-Star rumor we've been hearing (who started that anyways?) - Scott Stone addressed it best by pointing out that the show and its contestants don't have enough brand awareness (specifically the first two seasons that were aired a whopping eight years ago). - You bring up some interesting points about what was wrong with Season 5. As I mentioned in a previous post, Stone Stanley/Stone & Co. have long been keen on adding drama to the show. From what Bill mentions in his book (and even in your interview with him), the producers have this desire to start fires between the players, and it seems like they got help from the casting department for the latest season. - Mole 6 for Q3 2009 seems doubtful. Scott Stone has expressed his dislike for a premiere during that time, and for good reason. I'm curious as to why your inside man at ABC believes it won't happen but then throws out this Q3 information... The Bad - Your co-host annoyed me at times. She would interrupt the guests mid-sentence where I really wanted to hear what they had to say. She also asked some silly questions. This was quite literally my face:
- Everyone talking over one another (probably due to the lag from long distance calls) - Lots of skipping around between questions - It would have been nice if you fielded questions from us before going live or even while on the air - I assumed that the interview would mostly include new questions but those only showed up with about 15 min. left Overall, it was a decent interview with multiple guests (which is often difficult to coordinate). Try to fix up some of the issues I mentioned and you should have a solid go-around the second time. |

greenscreener wrote:Thanks for the feedback greenscreener! :-) Just for some clarification: My source, Chris, doesn't believe Season 6 will or won't happen, he was just letting me know what he came across on ABC's 2009 projection. He was just telling me not to get my hopes up because apparently there are often a lot of shows that are listed on this projections that end up never getting made. In Colleen's defense, A) This kind of show (pretty much just an interview) is not normal for us as we're a talk/variety/comedy show and B) Even though I talk about it a lot, she never watched The Mole until I gave her the youtube links for the past seasons to prep for this show. Apologies for the talking over one another...we recorded the show over Skype and that's just how it goes a lot of times, since all of us, including Colleen and myself were recording from different locations. In terms of fielding questions: I agree, that would have been cool, but this show all came about pretty recently and in terms of this message board, I only came here for the first time about a week and a half ago, and most threads here were kind of dead. If we ever do a follow-up, I'll definitely let everyone here know in advance. I had a lot of other questions that didn't get asked (as a Mole fan, I could have gone on talking to the gang for hours) but I wanted to let Bill, Darwin, Myra, and Liz kind of control where the conversation went because I figured they'd be able to give some good info that I wouldn't have thought to ask about. I particularly enjoyed finding out that Darwin was choice #2 for the Mole spot, which I had never heard before. I knew we'd get some new info no matter what, but I also was curious to hear what they had to say about their individual seasons as well (especially since most agree that seasons 1 and 2 are pretty much the golden age of The Mole). So did we lose some formatting? Yeah. But overall I was very pleased with how it went and I really wanted to keep it light-hearted and fun. Glad you tuned in and I appreciate the feedback. Hope you keep listening! -John |

I thought is was a pretty good interview. I would love to address the drama issues from season 5 (since I started most of it) and ask Bill a few questions of
my own. Let me know if you do it again.
