I can see this. He's the only guy I'm rooting for so I hope it's true.

Well being all buff & tuff can quickly change if you have no fat stores to speak of and you have no protien or carbs or to keep your muscle mass from
starving. Also being muscular doesn't necessarily mean that you will excel in the types of challanges presented on Survivor. I didn't see Ben/Coach
setting any records during the first challenge. Does anyone think he may be "playing it down" so as not to become a target?

It's possible, but who knows, we've only seen one challenge so far. But like you said, it's hard to tell who will be great at challenges. Look how
many individual challenges James Clement won.

I think he was just a little too vain to pack on some fat before he started. I can't decide if his face looks thinner in the after photo or not, it's
all nose and beard.

Does anyone think he may be "playing it down" so as not to become a target?Well, if he's serious about "changing the game" through an alliance of the strong, he shouldn't be tanking. You only do that if you are afraid of the numerous weak people. I think it's early to tell what sort of challenges we'll have this season. The first one had some endurance running through the sand, but also some puzzling and significant teamwork components. The next one is a brawl, but maybe later there will be some conducting or posing challenges that Ben would be good at. Or, maybe he really does have some coaching skills, which will make his tribe better at the team challenges, even if he's not personally a big contributor. I think that's one reason Jonathan's teams won so many challenges, not because he was athletic, but because he got people working better together. |

Birdlady - ^^ "posing or conducting" challenges"... LOL you are so funny. Team leader? Nah, don't think so. A true team leader looks at
all the assets of his players and works to bring out the best in each one. Ben/Coach is making team decisions based on what he sees not what he knows. (FYI -
His win/loss record as a soccer coach was not very impressive...)
I think Ben is a legand in his own mind. Gonna change how survivor is played, wants only the strongest in the end, survival of the fittest.... blah, blah, blah. You (Birdlady) were very perceptive in your response to my thinking he may be purposefully tanking the challenges. "Well, if he's serious about "changing the game" through an alliance of the strong, he shouldn't be tanking. You only do that if you are afraid of the numerous weak people." Also I didn't take into account his obvious vanity.... he couldn't throw something because his ego it too big. He may go a ways in the game but I think he is soon going to find out just how hard survivor really is. |

SPENCER IN FINAL 3? | ||

They don't let them come home, because that would tip too much, but I think they usually go to some touristy place not too far away. (Touristy so 8-10
americans showing up won't be any big deal.) Like for Gabon, we think the pre-jury folks were in Sao Tome, and I think for some of the south pacific
seasons they went to Australia. So Spencer could have been hanging out on the beach near Rio, or maybe doing some little adventure day trips, even if he got
booted fairly early. He should have had plenty to eat and drink, though, so he might be weathered but not emaciated if he was pre-jury.

Pre jurors stay on the island until the jury begins then they get flown on vacation elsewhere/no home communication |

It would be all sorts of poetic if Coach got sick and fell victim to his own philosophy of getting rid of the weak.

Remember that his team didn't get any water or bags of rice therefore, I could definitely believe the weight loss is earlier on in the game.

what are you talking about? Timbira got all of the bags of rice and water. Jalapao got none.
