I wasn't too impressed with Gokey. Decent voice but nothing spectacular.
Granted, the kid sang a tough song and they continue to shove the sob story down our throats. |

Ryan is outside of the audition stage, with Katrina Darrell, BIKINI GIRL from Phoenix.
IIRC, it was a 2-2 vote with the tie broken by the outstretched rods of the male judges. Ryan notes that she's "workin' the room." Uh-oh; Breathe. This song has been death for a couple of singers, and it's not working for Katrina, either. Kara: We had so much fun last time, didn't we! Randy: Oh, come on. Kara: At the beginning, I thought you were better than the last audition. But I think I was right. It went off at the end, got really thin. All joking aside ... Simon makes noise on the table to interrupt. Paula: I agree. (She says what Kara said.) Katrina: I need the music around! Simon: I absolutely agree with you. With music, that would have been a lot better. It's better than your first audition. Randy: I have to agree with Simon! (Two yes, two no? Deja vu all over again?) The entire group goes through to the next round. |

Kara and Paula have bikini girl figured out completely. The guys are letting their cocks do the voting. Bikini Girl reminds me of an even less talented and
sluttier Amanda Avila, if that's possible. And Jackie Thom (sp?) is really awful too.

Come on people - give Simon more credit. He knows she isn't the best singer but she is good enough for him and Randy to be able to have fun with this
through Hollywood... and hopefully further.
Personally, I think she deserves her spot. Has shown personality (whether you like it or not is a moot point), made an impression, and revealed a good voice. That is all I ask from anyone who wants to accel in this compeition. |

Erika Wesley with a country twang is next. Punk Rocker Emily Hughes in this group, too. Paula called her "Top 5" in the SLC audition. She picks a 40's song, I Put a Spell On You, then eschews it on stage for Excuse Me by No Doubt. It leaves the female judges C O L D. Paula: Emily! Ugh. Kara: You were one of the auditions I remembered. This song doesn't show where you can go. Paula: Not the right song. Simon: Agreed. Disappointing. Alex, David and Emily + 4 others step forward from their group. Front row, goes through, including Emily. Erika rrreeeejected. She goes back to plead her case. "What can I do to convince you?" Simon: Just to be clear, it's a no. Paula: I changed from yes to know. Erika: You gave me a yes in San Juan! I can do this! Paula and Erika talk over each other. Simon: I stand by the decision I made. I know you don't like it. Erika thanks the judges for listening. It's still a NO. |

OK, glad I wasn't the only one who didn't think Lil was THAT good (she was good, but not standing "o" good). Von was horrible. I didn't
see Katrina. They featured her during the previews, but I don't recall seeing her sing. Can't wait for groups tomorrow night.
