It's just a lot of crap.
People always wanna find something wrong with things. They claim that CBS didn't have autorization to film over there and that they've closed the whole location and that it could be very bad as an impact for the nature. Notghing big. |

Yeah, I'm sure they have a habit of filming this show in locations without any authorization.

What, you like 6teen, Cindi? :)
I tried to watch that video, but all I could look at was the anchorwoman's deep crevasse that was her cleavage. |

Anyways- I bet the producers just use that twist because the skin sells. If it is hot then they will expect to see them all in their undies running around. Everyone loves seeing the token hottie in their undies. |

From Jeff's Blog
Survivor: Brazil is going to be very different from Gabon. A lot of likable people and a very differently played game. I think you are going to like it. |

I don't know anything, this is just my speculation based on Jeff Probst's comments on the upcoming season. There was some interview were Jeff Probst
talked about how fans aren't always happy with the winners. Did they cast people for season 18 just to try to have a like able winner. Did they (whoever
casts the contestants) go out of their way to try to find a whole cast of Yau-Mans/Bobs/Cires, etc.
http://www.survivorsucks.com/topic/42464 A lot of the regular/casual fans of the show haven't been happier with the more negative characters the last couple of seasons. I am wandering if Probst's comments about having like able people means they tried to have less corine's/natalie's/joel's/marcus's, etc. Kenny pissed off a lot of the viewers with trying to blindside Bob, by trying to trick him out of immunity.A lot of the fans haven't been happy with those types of contestants. I wander if that is what he means that season 18 is going to have like able people. A lot of people weren't happy that Eric was tricked out of his immunity necklace. I wanted Amanda or Cire to win more then Parvati, but I thought she wasn't a bad winner. However, a lot of fans weren't happy with her win (Ozzy/James fans), or thought that Cire was robbed. Bob won the fan favorite vote because a lot of people thought he was a nice older fatherly type of person. I am wandering if they purposely casted people just based on, who they thought be seen as like able by the audience. |

Even if someone is "likeable", that doesn't mean they won't outplay, outwit, or outlast someone that you or I happens to like more.
That's sorta how the game works. As best I can tell from talking to normal viewers (not obsessed like us), what they haven't liked is contestants who
are consistently unpleasant AND are bad at the game.
Anyways, my impression, just from the promo, is that it's about good clean healthy fresh air competition (against the other contestants, and against the elements). At this point, I'm expecting a younger fitter cast, more emphasis on challenges, and more impact from the environment. Nothing intricate, like Art of War, or a contrived premise like Haves/Have Nots or Farns/Favorites.. I'm hoping that there is still a variety of challenges, so that we get to see different people being competitive, not that it's just some sort of grassland decathalon for a few individuals. They claim that CBS didn't have autorization to film over there and that they've closed the whole location and that it could be very bad as an impact for the nature. It's good for spoiling, though. (It could also be good for thoughtfulness about ecotourism. There's an appeal to using endangered or bologically significant habitat as a tourist destination, rather than for large-scale farming, but even eco stuff has an impact. Small impact for small infrequent groups (like Gabon), but Survivor is sort of a big group.) Do we know what the name of the helicopter charter company is? |

Many people figured out where S18 was when the crew member drowned.
...I see no where that Maps is claiming to be the first. I do see where they have blocked off potential filming areas, as they have done so invaluably in the past. There are many valued Spoilers who have participated in S18 and past iterations. |

Oh, wow, nice!
Kinda neat to see all of their stock nature footage like that. I suspect the heavy percussion/drums will be featured in the opening theme. |

I am speculating when Probst says like able people he means that the show is trying to avoid certain personality types. I think this means they might try to go
with more like able hero types, and more love to hate villians (people that the casting department think fit this category).
I hate to put it this way, because I try to stay away from stereotypes. What I meant was the show went out of its way to cast people the audience wouldn't think were Bitches and Assholes. The casting people might have gone out of their way to avoid Rocky, Joel, Alex, Lisi, Natalie, Corine, Judd, Marcus, etc. I certainly didn't think that Cassandra deserved to win, but I don't think she deserved the treatment that she got in front of the jury either. The audience usually doesn't like those type of contestants (Lisi/Alex). |
