The funniest part about the casting was them thinking Charlie would be a gamer. Which was a complete misread of his personality.

But as long as he sent in an application then he wasnt necessarily what we would refer to as a recruit even though he was given a shoulder to stand on.Sorry though nothungry.

Bob was one of Julie Berry's teachers in high school. Before she and Probst split, Julie pointed Bob out to him in one of her high school yearbooks, and Probst had SEG ask him to apply. Yes, recruits have to fill out applications and make tapes just like everyone else (which is why people like Matty and Corinne had tapes to show in the recap). They just have an extra "in" that gets them a little further along in casting.

They are making their video and sending in their application knowing that they will move on to the next round regardless. Some recruits have made videos while they were in the hotel during finals. While a normal applicant, sends in their tape/app not knowing if and when a call may be coming, and casting has no vested interest in our application coming in, so they won't be looking out for our specific application. So they still have to go through the process... but not really as they are just going through the motions, as they seem to have a free ride to at least the semi-final round if not further.

Just because someone was suggested by a casting specialist doesn't mean they didn't go through the same process as someone like Gillian/Leslie/Randy/Todd/Amanda (all big fans of the show). And Boo knew Erika from BB, who now does casting for Survivor. She tends to pull favors apparently. Once Boo was on the show, he suggested James as a contestant.

They write one line posts arguing things they know are going to set people off and they do it using cartoonishly broken Chinese English. In this case you asked if anyone had anything new on the cast. Obviously no one does. If they did they'd have mentioned it. So he or she gave you what you wanted to hear - huge news about the cast. It just happened to be bullshit to make you search the EW site and chase your tail looking for it. That's all.
