What you see is exactly what will happen, what does happen. If we see Jack die in a flash forward...nothing during the course of the remaining episodes will change that.

Kind of like how Charlie died but Desmond was able to save him however many times? Theoretically, he could have gone on doing that until Charlie died of old age. I mean, he either died or he didn't. Since we saw it through Desmonds flashes, it must have happened, but Desmond went and changed/prevented it over and over again.

Well im just saying, we never saw a flash forward of Charlie dying by some other way OTHER than drowning in that station.

Whatever Desmond saw in his mind is no where near the same as the show Lost showing us something definite. They were figments of Desmond's ability to see the future depending on how things were in the present. But no amount of time travel for the rest of the show will suddenly make Charlie drowning in that station never happen. Thats what happened (BECUASE of all the interventions by Desmond and others).

I was just trying to say that Lindelof's theory of time travel for Lost means the show wont use time travel to chage things we already have seen. For example, assuming Micheal blew up on that freighter, none of the time warping in the upcoming episodes will ever allow events to be changed that will suddenly help Michael avoid being blown up on that frieghter.

They wont screw with it like that.

The idea being, Michael was supposed to die that way because of the sequence of actions by others to lead up to that point. Charlie was supposed to drown in that hatch because of Desmond's interferring with what would have happened otherwise...and because of that interferring which we witnessed, it allowed contact with Penny's boat...which obviously affected a bunch of occurances we have seen after that.

But never will anything happen in the next couple of years of Lost that will change Charlie from being dead from drowning in that station. In that way, they arent using time travel the way a show like Heroes does.
