Yeah...that's great dapa. Kind of like saying "It's my Germany and my extermination camps, so there!". I don't remember asking for a
survey, too. Odd that, isn't it?
Anyhoo, I'm just gonna do condensed things for each leg and say why I didn't like it, and just link to it. Much easier, and most of the legs aren't exactly long to read. 30: Thiruvananthapuram, India Episode Link In theory, this leg should have been rather awesome, but it suffers from a number of problems. The massive pro of this leg was the Roadblock, but even then it was pretty much a direct ripoff of the Macau Roadblock. Furthermore, in general the skits around this Roadblock weren't as good (IMO), apart from Zoila's cry of rape. Which was kind of awesome. The Detour was another issue, since it was pretty much a sucky-ass "either write something about some random Indian painter's work" choice or "monotonous posts about tigers". Thiruvananthapuram is really tough to spell each team, too, and that drags this leg down too. But I think the major problem it has is that there was very little tension with oh ehm gee never showing, and it was far, far outshadowed by the New Delhi leg that followed on. 29: Algiers, Algeria Episode Link Yes, I know, it's another W&C1 leg. Algeria always seemed to be a bit of an odd one for me - it just seemed to be a bit of a...dull spot after three legs where there had been quite a bit going on. The "Terror" part of the Detour has always been a personal favourite of mine, in fact, but it is kind of the only thing that stands out in an otherwise drab leg. The other Detour option, "Peace", seems like something that would come out of the real race, which was something I think I was going for in the early legs (I think that's very apparent in Morocco, especially the Detour...but more on that later), but it was a little bit too boring for this race. Finally, an all-too luck driven Roadblock with the whole Rock, Paper, Scissors. The bright spot of this leg probably came in the mini-leg battle between Nick and Max because both of them missed the original leg, but that was all to determine who was going to get the Speed Bump in the next leg - and both of them kind of bankrupted themselves in the run up to Botswana as a result. 28: Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia -> Khovd, Mongolia Episode Link I had always wanted to do a leg in Kaliningrad, because it's just so obscure that it's kind of <3able. Plus, it's full of Russian gangsters, and also apparently the home of the KGB, as teams found out in the Roadblock. I think that's partially why I didn't like this leg as much, because it didn't really have a Roadblock, meaning it relied all too much on the Detour. That, and the Fast Forward was a kind of sucky research one that was fairly obvious once you got the info. Moving the leg to Mongolia halfway through was partially because A: Mongolia had been on the to-do-list since the first season, and was a big candidate instead of Hachiko-Kojima at one point in W&C2, and B: Kaliningrad is kind of sucky for research. One thing that annoyed me was the fact that teams acted like they were reunited after they got knocked out, which kind the idea of team members reuniting in the Khovd square. As for the Detour...well, this I had no real problem with. "Trade" was a direct ripoff of one of the Detour options during the South African leg in TAR7, but it's still a good concept, while "Cash" required teams to actually think about the notes and did spread the field a little. But as a leg, it's stuck between two good legs again, which means it's held down. |

and was a big candidate instead of Hachiko-Kojima at one point in W&C2 I swear, Hachiko-Kojima 2 needs to be at least Top 10. Most epic.footrace.EVER. |

27: Mtoni, Zanzibar,
Tanzania
Episode Link Zanzibar...hmm. Again, this was always going to be a tough leg to overcome the big shock of Vietnam, with teams being dumped with the orphans. It did, however, give teams the chance to interact for a full leg with the orphans for the first time, which was a nice little sidetrack. But really, what happened in this leg? The only thing of any real note was Shawn & Gus being eliminated, with Wuming having dominated the season otherwise (bar Cayenne and Kigali). The Roadblock was a standard "buy shit but with certain rules" task that was slightly reminiscent of both the Au Printemps task and AT's shopping task in ATTAR4, while the Detour was an odd one in the sense that it was the first real "luck vs. writing" task of the season, if I recall. The Detour was slightly different at one point, but then ten minutes before the leg was originally meant to begin, half the leg went missing and bits were changed as a result. Uneventful and kinda drab, therefore, means Zanzibar is 27th. 26: Hachiko-Kojima, Japan [Season One] Episode Link The first visit to Hachiko-Kojima wasn't as good as the second, and that was the entire reason for going back there during W&C2. Fundamentally, I think what caused the problems here were the tasks and the fact that there was no great rush to the leg due to Nick no-showing (but being saved by the NEL). The Detour, a choice between "Hamasaki" (<3333333) and "Stefani" (<333 - mainly because it's GaGa's first name) had teams either posting four Ayumi Hamasaki videos, or finding four girls from the Harajuku area who represented "Love", "Angel", "Music" and "Baby". The issue here was that it was the same number of updates, and that meant it was rather difficult to catch up. Then came the first appearance EVER of the T-Junction, which didn't get used here, but...still. Of course, then teams went to go to the Battle Royale Roadblock...and it sucked. I mean, I wanted it to be awesome, but it was literally a case of "post a square", "post next square" that involved no thinking. After this leg, I asked for people to fill out an "evaluation" of sorts, and this response I got from L5 kind of summed up my own thoughts on the RB: 1. Japan - just disappointing because Battle Royale is so awesome. If there had been a fighting aspect or some way to get ahead (apart from trying to move diagonally - the most frustrating thing about that was I had a diagonal move posted before Nimber but thought I'd made a mistake so I edited it) of the competitors it would have been good. Fighting aspect...well, that certainly would make things interesting at a later date. But, yes. Not as good as it could have been, as would late be proved. |

Oh, and I might as well say it now: All-Stars will NOT be my last time hosting a race. It's just my last time hosting a season.

He's sold the rights to W&C's race to someone else.
That or he's doing individual runs. |

25: Manila,
Philippines
Episode Link Apologies to the Pinoys out there, but Manila doesn't make it out of the bottom third in my rankings. Theoretically, there was nothing wrong with this leg - no massive problem that keeps on bugging me about it. It was just far too MOR for its own good: no drama because of the fact that smiley disappeared halfway through the leg, therefore negating Funkey's Speed Bump, and just...nothing really happened. The Roadblock was a nice bit of fun for me, if only because it was fairly random and again had one of the "ooh, decision!" moments. Then the Detour was kind of boring/sucky/seen it all before. So...yeah, I can't really say much more about it because it's just too boring >_>. 24: Beijing, China Episode Link Ah, Beijing. TAR14 do an Olympic leg seven or so months after the Olympics? I do one that's current, bitches. The best thing about this leg was probably the beginning: teams had to go to the Water Cube and find their clue in one of ten lockers. Somehow, only five teams actually started this leg at the right time...and all five managed to eliminate every other locker until they finally found the right one. After that, this leg was generally a case of "INACTIVITY RULES!", with Crow going missing during the leg, and a host of people starting it late. The Detour had teams either listing medal winners from the 08, 04 and 00 Olympics, or swimming 100m of the Water Cube (HEY, THOSE BITCHES STOLE MY IDEA!). There was an Olympic Torch FF that was alright, too. Then came the Roadblock, which was during my Dynasty Warriors <3fest phase, with teams having to give descriptions of a figure from either Wu, Wei or Shu. This leg is also notable for the fact that it was postponed halfway through thanks to Yuku sucking, so it was held over until the next race day. And somehow, we got to a point where max was just finishing the Roadblock and smiley was just starting the leg. Far too broken apart to make a good leg, but the design of it was good, at least. Oh, and it had my favourite death ever (Wan putting concrete shoes on Candy & DeJeMaul and making them drown in the Water Cube <3. Ranks up there with JP & Steve being blown up on the aircraft carrier). |

Hmm, I only just noticed that there were only two teams in W&C2 that scored a non-FF first place. Of course there were only three of those, but still..
