Not technically a lap down, but very easy to be put a lap down. Now with this new rule there won't be any tail-enders, and everybody a lap down will be at the back racing amongst themselves for the free pass. Away from the leaders. Seems like a win-win to me.
It was always confusing on the restarts who is the leader because sometimes they seemed to be lined up in the middle of the pack. If the lapped cars are now behind the lead lap cars, doesn't that benefit them in a way because now the lead lap cars have to get all the way around the track to lap them again? Before, they could just get passed and they were lapped again in a restart. Or am I confusing things?
How the hell do you just add a rule change to the middle of the season like that? That's rhetorical right? Because...yeah...this is still NA$CAR we're dealing with here.
