Mets needed to address the pen and they got some decent pitching on the cheap.

I agree that Putz will be good for the Mets. Big ball park, more forgiving and he does have some gas.

I don't include the AL because i don't care and they play as vastly inferior brand of the gameRemoving the pitcher from the responsibilities of batting is equal to playing a vastly inferior brand of the game? No, I don't think so. In fact, it puts a premium on good pitching and good defense to help you win, which is what championships are made of. Double switches and sacrifice bunts galore are what you get by having pitchers bat. Boooooooooring. i had to autodraft in cra's league and ended up with 5 players I've never heard of. and billy wagner.sl, that league is small enough that there are lots of decent players left as free agents. Give the waiver wire a try and see if you can improve your squad. You might be surprised. |

actually i meant the 20 team league is the one i autodrafted for. i'm guessing the fact that I ended up some someone who probably won't even be in the
majors this year is indicative of how many good players are left.

Yeah autodraft in a 20 team league will fuck you over for about your last 5 or 6 picks. If you're drafting live you can get sleepers with those picks
instead.

For the person who made that incredibly fair trade proposal to me in cra's league, I made a counterproposal.

Boooooooooring.I've never really had a major problem with the DH but I prefer watching games that finish in less than three hours. Can't tell you how many times, after a Met game concluded, I'd switch over to the Yankees and the game would be in the 5th or 6th inning. lol btw- I'm really getting sick of reading stories about the 'New Castillo' Does this mean he'll hit the ball out of the infield on occasion? oh joy! |

According to MLB.com, the Tigers DLd Dontrelle Willis with an "anxiety disorder". What does that even mean?

Anyone who watched his final year with the Marlins knew something the Tigers didnt.

The article says blood tests led them to sideline him. As an anxiety sufferer I'd love to know what condition of anxiety can be determined through blood
screening. It's probably some other condition that's manifesting itself as anxiety.

In their latest attempt to pretend that 2008 never happened, the Tigers released Gary Sheffield. He could be a nice pick up for someone at league minumum while
the Tigers eat the rest of the 14 mil they owe him.

Mets need a righty bat.......too bad he's washed up.
Cubs named Gregg as the closer. maybe I should reconsider picking them to come out of the nl. oh and I'm surprised StarRider hasn't come running in here to post the news about his immortal beloved Chipper Jones agrees to $42M, 3-year extension |

3 years of news articles about Larrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wrenching his back and winding up on the DL only to recover miraculously in time for each
Mets series is something I can do without...

I know Larry is a hitting machine but a three year extension (14M per) for a 36 y/o who has missed 160+ games in the last 4 seasons?

LOL at SI picking the Mets to win it all.
For you fantasy bb players: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/fantasy/04/01/mlb.pvr.rankings.2009/index.html According to SI fantasy rankings, the top 5 position players: 1) Albert Pujols 2) Hanley Ramirez 3) David Wright 4) Jose Reyes 5) Carlos Beltran and the #1 pitcher? God, of course |
