For those who don't know, if I have any obsession other than reality tv, it would have to be politics. More so the political process than actually caring
about the issues, and thus my favorite branch of the US government is far and away the legislative branch. Your average citizen only really cares about who the
president is, but Congress has the vast majority of the volatile personalities, glamorous scandals, and epic power struggles that make politics fun.
Anyway, the new Congress is underway! But of course in true congressional fashion, they took the weekend and an extra day off, so they won't start working until tomorrow. 14 new senators and 57 new representatives will be sworn in and it's a very colorful cast of generic white men and glamorous white women. Actually not that many will be sworn in since some seats are yet to be filled and that Demon Racist Harry Reid might lock Roland Burris out of the building, but I'm including him and all the frontrunners for vacant seats for the purposes of this list.
I don't completely align myself with either party and my state decided to be boring and reeelect all of its incumbents, so I'll be as unbiased as I can by ranking them using important criteria like sex appeal and laffo potential.
Here are all the new members so you can judge them superficially before the list begins, which is what I'll be doing for about 75% of them. Get to know them well. Maybe one of them will be president one day! (ya right)
