Then the true spreading of this evil will begin, brothers and sisters. Everytime we turn on the radio our ears will be assaulted by the moans and gasps of the devil child. Everytime we turn on the tv will become physically ill because the devil's imp will be there. Everytime we open a magazine or newspaper our eyes will be in agony from the images of the evil one. I find it hard to believe that the Archuleta hate thread has turned out smaller than the Mantasia hate thread, expecially since sucks was a bit more crowded back then. Besides which, most of us will accept that Devil Spawn does have SOME singing talent and can sound pleasant enough if you don't mind sappy ballads, whereas Mantasia is awful by any reasonable standards (so yes, I do think "contemporary R&B" sucks).

Not offended in the least, Pemmie. :)) And I didn't realize he had said those things in interviews (since I've never been interested enough to listen to/read one until someone posted the Top Three video which was so cute I kind of softened towards him). I have to agree, if he's never even had a crush by age 17 he is an oddity.

If he hasn't even done that, I'd say it's psychological (could be anxiety, low self-esteem, a number of different things). It doesn't make sense to only blame religion. All this shows is that he is clearly not psychologically prepared for fame. Wasn't Michael Jackson also abnormally innocent around girls when he was a teen? Somebody confirm this because I'm too lazy to google stuff right now.
