Jason Rene Castro, 21 Hails from: Rockwall, Texas (born in Dallas). Job: Was a junior majoring in construction science at Texas A&M University before auditioning for Idol. Abilities: Plays guitar, drums (and soccer!). Audition song: Jason auditioned in Dallas (he was not shown on the TV series until the finals due to legal restrictions on the songs he chose to perform). After he sang Hallelujah, hundreds of people decided to download the Jeff Buckley cover of the Leonard Cohen song at the iTunes Store, which propelled it to the No.1 spot on iTunes' singles chart! Buckley's version of the song sold 178,000 digital downloads in the week following Jason's performance - the highest boost in digital sales a song ever received after being performed by a contestant on American Idol, according to Wikipedia. The balloons were delivered exactly as described. The picture was edited, but ONLY because there were some things that could not LEGALLY be shown in the reflections or otherwise. Money is being spent EXACTLY as it is being reported. Shame on those who decided it was their "mission" to destroy a good woman's reputation. WTF couldn't legally be shown in a reflection?
