Theresa, Jacob and Kalan can never be topped. It trumps anything ever done on Amerikan Idol.
But that video is really bad. Too bad we don't have a decent copy on YouTube.

SHC, Miki, et al--I guess when you are invested in a season, performances take on more importance. You've seen the growth, the struggles each week,
stressed over eliminations, etc. I have no idea who those three were, other than that they were the top 3 of some CI season--and while the voices were nice,
for me, listening objectively, that IYE rendition was completely forgettable and contrived. No passion or longing at all. Sorry, didn't get the love you
traditional CI fans have for that. Which one won the season, btw?

Always read, never post, but tonight I have to.
1. Sebastian - if I were not female it would probably be Amberly, don't know why this guy is just so hot! 2. Amberly - very beautiful 3. Mookie - love this guy, has to make top 10 4. Gary - first time I have even remotely liked him 5. Martin - love him but he hasn't done anything for me lately 6. Drew - same as Martin, boring 7. Paul - go away 8. Lisa - go away, butchered a great song 9. Marie Pierre - terrible, nothing redeeming about this 10. Mark - never liked him, never will, personality is beyond obnoxious |

You wouldn't be saying the same thing had you had the pleasure of witnessing Canadian Idol Season 2. For much of the Country it was a joy watching those 3 week after week and their relationship to eachother and it being the end of the season and the way their voices worked together made that performances. Reading the words contrived and forgettable being used to describe almost bring a little bit of pain to me and break my heart. |

WTF is going on with the judges... Jake and Zach are sniping at each way more than normal
I have to shake my head sometimes at the shit that comes out of Ben's mouth |

Tonight was like, awkward banter night.
- Ben's tissues on the ceiling comment - Zack hitting on Sebastian - Farley telling Mark that he didn't think Mark singing "I'm in love with a girl" was "believable" - Ben commenting on Sebastian having three of something that he should only have two...wtf? However, the best moment of the whole show was when Zack told Mark that he's going to be around for a long time because of Newfoundland, and then proceeded to tell him to become EVEN MORE ANNOYING (not in so many words) so as to totally turn the rest of Canada against him. Actually fantastic advice! I hope Mark takes it. 1. Sebastian - the best, even if he's still pretentious and awkward 2. Amberly - effortless and beautiful, although I would like to hear something that's not a ballad 3. Lisa - I might be a little biased, but I didn't think it was THAT bad 4. Drew - I wish he'd open his eyes more, but I love his voice...fodder? 5. Gary - last week I didn't like him much, but I was pleasantly surprised tonight 6. Mookie - I don't think he's going to make it to the final 2. 7. Martin - meh...the chorus was not good at all 8. Paul - I just don't like him 9. Marie-Pierre - terrible opening, the chorus almost redeemed it a little bit, but not enough...au revoir 10. Mark - hopefully Newfoundland thinks that he's not singing until tomorrow night, so they just didn't watch |

When did Ben become a gay pervert?
I mean I always hated him, but his commentary this year has become so creepy. |

Is it just me or are the judges giving really good constructive critism tonight (more so than usual)? I guess it must be after the painful AI season of
singing phonebooks, pretty colours and hamburgers with only the bun.

Okay--for tonight:
Loved Amberly, Mookie, Gary and Drew although Gary needs to lose the lip spike because I'm flashing back to Dilana and how much I hate painful looking face piercings Really liked Paul Sorta liked Martin (but too karoake) & Sebastian (minus the bizarre, constipated performace art aspects) Eh for Marie-Pierre No to Lisa and Mark and I think I almost hated Lisa more for destroying a song I love with her R&B diva runs and gimmicks SHC, I'm sorry--I did qualify it by saying it's different when you watch a performance after having watched a whole season, which I didn't. Hope I redeemed myself with the Amberly love :) I pretty much figured I'd be dead.to.you after what I wrote, but it needed to be said. |

Even though you broke my heart you're still alive.to.me for your Cookie and Amberly <3
You totally need to type Theresa Sokyrka into YouTube though and watch all her performances. She's the girl in IYE and she's part of what made CI2 so special for most of us here. I shall start you off with a personal favourite, it makes me cry pretty much every time I listen to it. This is phenomenal too: |

We reminisce about CI2 and Theresa pretty much every season so we're right on schedule.
This is probably my favourite of her solo work, "Falling Out." |

I don't get the love for the CI2 final three of "In Your Eyes" either. *shrugs*
Anyway, ranking time. The Best Sebastian - This guy has a limited vocal range BUT he makes up for it for his unique style and performance. It's not just about the vocals but it's how he utilizes every inch of his body while performing on stage. You could have the greatest voice in the world but if you stand on stage like a lifeless tree stump or if you make an attempt to be animated (like Mark Day) and yet fail miserably, then everything else falls apart. I also liked his song upbeat song choice. Amberly - Understated. Subtle. Another amazing performance from the Goddess. I like her high falsetto-like tones. Very soothing to the ears. She's gonna sail to the final three fo'sho Mookie - Major kudos for singing "The Kooks". Those are the kinds of songs that he should be singing throughout the show. Looking forward to more Mookie in the future. The Okay Gary - I like how he minimized the growling this time and actually sang the song without any other form of vocal embellishments. He also came across as a genuinely nice guy in his interview clip. He reminds me of the types of friends that I had back in high school. Very down to earth. Marie-Pierre - The first half was boring but the second half sounded wicked great. She's the kind of female singer I want on this show - a belter that can rock it out. I think she's doomed though. Paul - I liked it. I'd probably hate him if he sounded like that and looked like a prepubescent tween but since he isn't, I like him. He needs to sing something upbeat next week. Let's see what happens. The Meh Drew - I kind of don't care for him anymore. It was a forgettable performance. Surprised that he made it this week. Will he make it again? Meh. The Bad Martin - I had high hopes for this guy before the show even premiered but tonight he sucked. Paul was (or perhaps, will always be) miles ahead of him vocally. He's sliding down fast. Lisa - She has a great personality. That's it. Vocally, it was horrid. Screechy. Screamy. Predictable. The OMGWTFLMAOBBQ Mark - The first ever faux-rocker performance on CI6. It's like he came on stage singing showtunes, then I muted him and played a Gavin DeGraw CD over his segment. That's how bizarre it was. The jazz hands, diva hands, outstretched hands, and pointy fingers didn't fit the song at all. No wonder he's VFTW's pick |

Watching Amberly's peformance again and wow. It sounds better on the net clip than I heard it on t.v. Amazing. She is a star.
She is giving me Brian vibes from last year. Brian was amazing with his songs and songchoices. Brian definitely owned the song choice thing waaay before Cook did. If she pulls a "Brian" and chooses songs that she will do amazing on, she can definitely win. She is a ready made and packaged star, I missed her bio package when watching it on t.v. but seeing it now and how she speaks, just W.O.W. Amberlyownage. The Meh noooo!! I actually ended up voting for him like 140 times. I think he might go home. |

I kind of feel sorry for Mark because he's a fish out of water but has an okay voice. However, watching him is like watching a needy young Fred
Flintstone. I hate how he played the I Was Bullied sympathy card tonight. Zach's comments to Mark were so slyly evil he makes Simon seem like a teething
puppy.
For me it's still Amberly--possibly could be my favorite female performer from any AI or CI I've seen, Mookie--what a unique talent at such a young age, Drew--because I just love his voice and Gary because he did Mr. Bojangles and made it his own. Paul almost made my top 4, but he just needs to do a little more with that great voice. |
