It would have been better for Theo had his songs been reversed. Heaven was so good that When You're Gone paled in comparison. It would have been
interesting to hear the comments on WYG if he had done it first. It wasn't his greatest, but it wasn't bad. It's just that he set the bar REALLY
high with Heaven.
And why did none of the judges hear those awful out-of-tune bits in Mitch's second song?? They were almost tongue bathing him, but he was so obviously off...and it was brought to our attention again in the recap when they replayed one of the worst clankers he hit! Drew's second song was kind of yawn-inducing. |

Sorry. The fact that there are six or seven people better than Drew invalidates the "ZOMG! BEST FINAL TWO EVER!" notion
Kalan and Theresa were both the creme of the crop in their season and absolutely deserved their final two spots. So thus, Kalan/Theresa > > > > > > > Theo/Drew (if that's your final two) |

Theo's "Heaven" was phenomenal. It reminded me a little (but better) than David Archuleta's in Hollywood of this past season of AI (I liked
both, so Arch haters shouldn't take that as an insult). Definitely a great performance, though.

Sorry but it does. I don't care what Zach says.I don't get this comment. Zach is the one who most acknowledges regional voting. As for Theo/Drew vs Kalan/Theresa even with personal preference factored in Drew and Theo could never hope to be better than K and T. Drew is nowhere near Kalan's level. I'm not a fan of either but Drew isn't fit to clean the scum off of Kalan's shoe. Theo is probably just as good vocally as Kalan and slightly more interesting but that's not saying much. I prefer Theo's tone to Kalan's and personally find him more entertaining but if I were speaking in general terms I'm sure lots of people find Theo and Kalan equally boring. Neither of them are as good or as entertaining as Theresa so let's not even go there. Theresa did something a lot of contestants, Drew and Theo included fail to do and make all of her more slow, ballad type songs entertaining. Sometimes while Theo sings them amazingly you're kind of left yawning when he does his piano ballads. Something like "Song For A Winter's Night" was a slow song and she was just sitting there on a god damn school but damn if it isn't the best performance in Canadian Idol history. The vocal was fucking haunting and beautiful and it was moving and just wonderful. Even Theo singing "Angel" didn't top that. So needless to say, Kalan and Theresa >>>>>>>>>> Drew and Theo. I'm actually even going to go a bit further and say that as a Top 2 I even prefer Melissa and Rex and Eva and Craig to Drew and Theo. In each scenario there's someone great and someone meh/awful to me. For me Melissa and Eva are better than Theo and Rex and Craig are better than Drew. Ryan and Gary and Brian and Jaydee are the only worse set of Top 2 competitors. |

Zach said this season that regional voting does not affect the show at the end of the day and it does. Zach contradicts a lot of what he says.
For me Melissa and Eva are better than Theo and Rex and Craig are better than Drew. Theo, Melissa, and Eva are all different and unique from each other. It's hard to place them in an order for myself. Brian is great too and did amazing, memorable performances on the show. I know everyone calls him "Blah-ian" but he was anything but during Idol. He has probably the best songlist in CI history. Theo would make a great addition to the CI winners list. Reg and Craigina are not fit to suck Drew's hairy penis. Drew owns both of them. |

In keeping with pretending this season ended already let's talk about Eva again.
Her new single was released today and you can hear it on her official website. It's not necessarily the kind of music I like best but she sounds wonderful and it's very radio friendly and R&B so this could be great for her if it blows up on the airwaves. |

Honestly I have no idea who would win between Drew and Mitch and I hope we don't have the opportunity to find out.

In all honesty, what can they really do about regional voting except for not putting in certain people. But, you can't risk alienating viewers and losing
ratings/an entire part of the country.

They really can't do anything to target it specifically but limiting the number of votes per phone line would help a little bit.
Certain people like Mark shouldn't have been put through imo. If people felt alienated by him not being there they need their hearing checked. Yes I know no NLer would have been in the semis but obviously if Mark was the best one they found this trip then there shouldn't have been one. Otherwise my only other solution to combat regional voting would be adopting the vote calculating system they used on World Idol where a contestant got a point value based on how many votes they got from each Country. Their Country automatically gave them the maximum # of points and could not vote for them as a result of that. |

it's true. regionalism in canada is a funny thing. if you put limits on the number of vote from each number, it might actually spur MORE newfies to vote, because they only have to do it 10 times to potentially make a difference. |

Thanks. I have her site in my favorites but had to go to the first page. I actually like the song. It should do well on the radio.
I'm actually rooting for Mitch to make the finale as long as Theo does too. In all honesty, what can they really do about regional voting except for not putting in certain people. But, you can't risk alienating viewers and losing ratings/an entire part of the country.If they went with the original format and had top votegetters get through each week than people would need support from across Canada to get into the top 10 in the first place. We would never see people like Mark in the top 10. The top 10 would've been completely different. Regional voting alone wouldn't be enough to carry someone into the finals. That would solve part of the problem. |
