As for Earl most people have a strong opinion of him, even if negative. That's better than indifference when it comes to music IMO.very true. They should bring Eva back. The only winner they've had which is the Full "Idol" package. Looks, mega talent, charisma, cam friendly, marketable, savvy etc... |

Eva's like the perfect idol. Hopefully they bring her back. At least if she doesn't come back this year we should definitly see her next year. By
then her album would have been out for awhile and she'll have a few singles out.

I can see that happening. Their second album got certified double platinum (200,000)
Both their c.d.'s have gone double platinum. Biggest success story of CI so far. |

I just hope that kind of success can be repeated by a different contestant. I'm happy to have Hedley can show up every year on CI since I like them. |

I don't think a Hedley success will ever happen again IMO. Jacob lucked out appearing on CI when he did cause the show was still fresh, Malcolm did really
well with his initial c.d. and the record company prospects on the show producing success was high. It seemd to be going down the path AI did with mega
successes. They invested in Hedley and got a good deal outside BMG.
I think if Jacob were to appear now, his band would have been another flash in the pan and would have gone with BMG or some indie label and had lukewarm success. Their success is partially attributed to their label who is media savvy and did great marketing campagins and management. If CI continues to slip over the years in the ratings and demos, I can see the show wrapping up by the 10th season or something like that. |

It's doubtful but I hope it happens again. But I can see the following scenerio happening over a few years: some random CI contestant (probably someone
that didn't even make the top 10) blowing up and getting huge, and it will have nothing to do with them being on this show. It seems crazy but I can
totally see it. There's been so much talent on this show over the years. Hey I'm trying to be possitive. CI is only contracted until season 8 so I'm not sure if we'll get a season 10, unless they renew the contract. |

Only till season 8? I guess it'll get the chop earlier than I thought. Might be extended to 10, depends if the ratings continue to fall. If the winners
keep on tanking and no one has success, might as well cancel it, beats the purpose of the show of finding a superstar when they all end up in retail afterwards
(not making fun of retail jobs, just saying).

Some of it could be due to the Olympics, but I looked at previous weeks before the olympics and it was doing better around 1.0-3 mil for performance and 900,000-1.2 for results but that's still lower than last year. The show used to be a solid 1 and 2 in the ratings now it rounds off the Top 5 or 10. |

That's pretty bad but it's still beating some popular shows. All the other shows have dropped in viewers too, just not as bad as CI has. |

Yeah, everything has gone down, but CI definitely has the biggest hit. I blame it on the lack of girls too on the show.

Maybe because there was no one from BC or Saskatchewan in the finales those provinces stopped watching. When Mark left than maybe Newfoundland followed. Or
maybe Newfoundland didn't want to watch Mark in the first place. Blame Mark Day.
It's probably a combination of lack or girls and lack of
diversity.

Next year they're going to make sure there is one person from each province in the top 10. They won't be skipping Saskatchewan either. They'll
make sure the Newf is female (two birds with one stone). I don't think they'll do the gender imbalance either (at least not like this year).
They'll find a way to get at least 4 girls in the top 10.

theo can sing his ass off
but he is one of the ugliest thing i've ever seen on tv he'd be better off being marketed in a michael buble esque niche as opposed to the pop market |
