I'm sure lots of horrible singers will be options though in the Top 22 and 10.

I wouldn't call any of the people who have won thus far a horrible singer, not even Brian who is the weakest technical singer of the bunch.

I would say that every winner of CI has been talented in their own right. I can't say the same for AI.

Brian has no redeeming qualities and will be back bussing tables very soon. At least Ryan and Melissa had some staying power, but Brian continues to be Mr.
Delusional about himself. Probably because the judges never once stopped stroking his cock, once Greg left.
I hope this season's winner is either a) talented b) entertaining or c) both |

Kalan fits into category a) very well. Plus he is so very beautiful.

If by beautiful you mean ugly and if category A was overrated then yes he's perfect for it.

You can't hate her that much if you can't remember her. |

Say what you like about Brian imho they made the right decision in choosing Shine as the next single. It may or may not help with record sales in the long run
but it's a good song in its own right and probably the best choice in terms of showcasing Brian's style. Can see it doing well on radio.

That's so sad and pathetic! Well, that's the lifespan of a CI winner for you.

I'd put money on Jaydee's CD not debuting higher than Brian's, and not even staying on the chart for 5 weeks.

Well, that's the lifespan of a CI winner for you.Yup, and it's just going to get worse year after year. It's really a shame because his album is really good for an Idol album and I could see it doing relatively well with some decent backing. I'd put money on Jaydee's CD not debuting higher than Brian's, and not even staying on the chart for 5 weeks.I agree, especially that he is a country act. He would have to go south to actually make any success. This show is a joke, really is. It's just fun summertime filler, I don't take this show or who wins seriously anymore now. Not that I ever really did, but now more than ever, I've given up on the franchise. |

Anybody remember what Eva did chart-wise with her album?
I recall it was better than that. |

I recall reading that Eva lasted 14 weeks on the Soundscan charts. I can't confirm that, but I know that Melissa lasted the least number of weeks at 11
on the Top 100 albums charts.

I don't remember how Eva did but I found this info someone posted on the CTV site.
21. Hedley - (week 10) 24. Carrie Underwood (week 11) 26. Daughtry (week 57) off the chart Brian Melo (week 6) Kalan's fell off the charts on his 6th week too. I'm not expecting great things from this show, especially the winners either. That being said Hedley is doing really well. I think if a CI contestant is talented, memorable, has label backing and the music is good they should do fine, CI or no CI. Jacob has all those things, that's why he's the only one that is doing well. |

I look forward to the CI6 commercials and the montage of the CI winners and Ben telling us how all of them skyrocketed to fame and have enviable careers.

While what happens post-Idol for winners in Canada and America is a fucking joke for the most part I haven't written off the talent we continue to see on
the shows. There's tons of crappy contestants who have business in any kind of talent competition but every season there's a couple of gems who have
some serious, despite not becoming huge stars afterwards. I watch for that and hope that they can do something after, which most end up doing, even if they
don't become mega stars. Arguably most people are better off after Idol and get to do something more in the vein of what they love even if they don't
get a major label recording contract and huge chart success.
